9HOD: Chapter 3 Ocean Breeze

((OOC: Alrighty folks! This here is the most "recent" posting spot in the Nine Hearts universe, so start posting here now! If you want to continue unfinished stuff from part 2, just post in the flashback section we made a week or so ago. Anyways, we've time skipped to the finals now, which is about 5-6 months, so here we go! Also, Ice is letting me use Merlin for this post.))


The students who had passed the midterms were gathered in a special assembly hall meeting specifically for them. Coincidently, those students just happened to be all of the ones that went on the trip to Mystic's Forest back after midterms.
((OOC: AKA all of your guy's characters, fyi ))

"Welcome students, to what is almost the end of yet another wonderful year at A.W.E.!," he announced, amplifying his voice. "Granted, we've had some rough things happen with Snape. Aaaand some of you got Serenity a little mad back on that field trip. Still, she agreed to teach Nature Magic here at the school to anyone interested...which you all probably know anyways by now."

"In any case, what I've brought you all here for today, by yourselves, without any teachers besides myself around, is to tell you what it is your final exams will consist of.," he said with a large grin, totally clueless as to why he would need to reiterate about any other teachers being absent when the students could already tell that. "And so, I give you, the finals!"

Holding his hands up, behind him on a large screen appeared a rather fancy, dramatic, over the top picture of a tournament line up. "You all will be fighting each other in a series of 1 on 1 battles until one of you is decided as the strongest person of your class!," he announced.

"Wow.," Lance said in awe. "Uh...this is unexpected."

"Interesting...," Isaac said to himself. "Looks like keeping tabs on everyone else will be useful after all."

"A chance to show my worth and the worth of my clan? Excellent!," Rami said happily.

"Wow. This sounds right up your alley Nabiki.," Kami said to her.

((OOC: Ok guys, at this point you now can update your bios with an ultimate ability. Remember, if you student has 4 abilities, you can choose one of them and give it a power boost to make it an ultimate. If they have 3 abilities, you can make up a new "ultimate" ability. If they have 2 or less, which i don't think any do, make up 1-3 new ability/ies and then make up an ult. Or, hell, better yet, go look at the thing I posted for ulimates in the main bio sections or even PM me ))

"Oh joy, the second years don't have many guys whose ass I haven't already kicked." Malus says.

"If we fight...give it your all Kami. Show me my girl's tough." Nabiki says. "You too Zain, no wimping out on me. It'd be insulting if you did."

Roy looks over at Leah. "Umm...Leah. Will you be mad if I forfeit should we meet? I...I'd rather risk failing than hurt you."

"If we fight, and you give up, I will not, I repeat will not be happy." She said punching his arm.

Kris stood with Illyana, his back felt funny. Since revealing them to the whole gang, he'd felt very out of place with them concealed. His fathers outrage had him on edge, having left the castle upon discovering his new relationship with Illyana, a red dragon. That and Kris's new refusal to obey the law of the exile made him leave, taking with him any chance the Orochi or any white dragon clan would help Merlins cause.
"Should be fun."

Illyana smlies, her arm around Kris. she had been very proud of him since he stood up to his clan. "You said it! The younger dragons back home do things like this all the time, but I'm never allowed to play because I'm little." she pouts "But now I can." she smirks, eager to show off her new spell she had developed.

Mortus stands with Lance "Awwwwww! THIS IS AWESOME!" he is clearly excited "I'm so pumped right now!"

Axelle looks at the second year bracket "Hmmm." is all she says.

Zain stands with Kami and Nabiki. "Wouldn't dream of it. I'll give it my all. You two would never let me live it down if I didn't." he chuckles and puts his arms around them "Juuust don't be too surprised when I have tricks up my sleeves. I've been doing some private practicing when I'm not with you two." he smiles. He had in fact worked with Erov over the past months, as well as his grandfather, to work on harnessing his demon power.

[CrystalPrison]

Sapphire ginned, fighting wasn't really her style, but she'd be more than happy with a little friendly competition. She'd done plenty of practicing over the past few months, and was eager to see just what she could do against a real opponent. "Now this is going to be fun..."

[Dynamax]

Roy robbed his arm. "*sigh* Well at least don't blame me if I hold back with my new move. I can't use it full force on any of you guys or I'd ...well...slice ya in half."

Malus looks back at Axelle. "You're likely the only one that'd beat me in our tier." Malus says as he takes her hand. "I dunno if I'd be able to go full force on ya and I mean that. I can't ever get in my zone with you, though it might make things interesting."

"I've honed my skills too. I got a surprise too. No affect against Kami but it'll be good to throw your way." Nabiki smiles as she looks at Zain.

[Noble 6]

"Takezawa!!! Your ass is gonna be grassed if you go up against me!!!" Kris yelled at Nabiki jokingly.
"Not if I kick your ass first Agro!!!" A boy named Jona yelled.
"Oh bring it on bird brain!!!"

(I assume there are more finals taking place than just ours right lol.)

Leah smiled.
"You will fight your hardest, or so help me I will....beat you into submission, and make you run around in...in my bra and underwater!!! And it'll be full to the brim with lace." She threatens kissing his nose.,
"And get that image of me wearing that out of your mind and focus!!!" She laughed.

[Dynamax]

"I didn't say I wouldn't after the punch. And no." Roy smiles. "I may have changed how I dress, but not how I think Missy."

"The boy grows half a foot and he's getting all tough and manly." Malus jokes. "Just don't wreck your suit. I didn't make it to be thrashed."

"I've been born and raised for war Dragon boy. Don't think for a minute that you can stop me easy." Nabiki says back at Kris. "Not that you'd get past Illyana." She laughs.

Kris smiled,
"Oh bring it on miss Oni." Kris said getting into a playful kung-fu stance.
"Hehehe....owww," he said suddenly as his right wing jumped out from his shoulder.
"Damn it, another shirt ruined."


Leah laughed, then looked at Malus.
"Why do you keep making him clothes." She asked with a smirk.
"Hey, You gotta beat me Kris, so don't go making plans with Nabiki." She said with another odd smile.

[Dynamax]

"I want my bro to look styling for his girl. Plus this is gonna be my job at some point. Maybe I can hire him and you as clothes models?" Malus says before seeing Kris. "Dude, do I need to teach you control?" Malus growls. "I can mend that, don't toss that shirt."

"Heh, you sound like a mom right now Malus." Roy says.

"You calling my hobby girly little man?" Malus says.

"No, just you." Roy laughs.

Malus growls for second and then laughs. "I think the dragons better worry about you. You got balls Bro."

Nabiki shakes her head. "We keep weird company don't we?" She then puts her arms around Zain and Kami. "One of us at least better make it to the final round, got it?"

Sapphire looked to Kris, "You know...you could just buy a shirt to work around your wings." She pointed out. It was far easier for her than worrying about wanting to fly and being unable to, and she thought he could benefit from it as well.

"I....um, well I never have used them all like that before. I probably will have to, but...I don't have any yet. And no, I'm good, I just got overly excited heh." He said laughing.

((OOC: Actually Noble, I specifically said that only our toons that went to Mystic's forest ended up here for this final. Everyone else in our students' class failed the midterms ))

Isaac laughed lightly at Illyana's eagerness. "You know, you're right. Unlike the midterms, this looks like it should be lots of fun.," he said with a grin. "Normal classes are just dull. This will definitely make things exciting."

"Tell me about it dude.," Lance agreed with a grin. "Just, uh, I hope I don't have to go up against you. You'd probably kick my ass!"

"Ooo, that attack I've got to see.," Kami laughed at Nabiki's hint. "As for the final round, well, I guess we'll just see what happens. You guys will probably make it but I'll at least try my best."

Rami was rather ecstatic about this final. "I just hope I can contend against all these dragon-descendants.," he said with a laugh.


"And now, I give you, the tournament line ups!," Merlin announced. On the board, the following lit up:

"These were all randomly generated, so get to know who you're up against! Remember, even if you lose, you still get graded on your performance! We start in the afternoon so you have till then to get ready! Good luck everyone!," Merlin said happily before vanishing in a puff of smoke.


"Well, looks like I'm up against you Malus.," Lance said. He tried to hide back how nervous he was...Malus wasn't going to be a pushover.

"And I'm up against Mortus.," Isaac added. "This should be a very interesting fight."

"Hmm...I guess it's you vs. me Axelle.," Rami said. "I hope to see you well and prepared for our engagement.," he respectfully added with a bow.

"Huh...Abbie? I don't think I've ever seen her do anything.," Kami remarked. "Makes me kind of curious."

((OOC: Btw, we actually did use a random number generator for this...guess it was just fated to be Roy vs. Leah XD))

Roy hung his head. "Damn it."

Nabiki groans. "Aww that's too damn soon. I wanted to size him up first." Nabiki sighs. "At least it's not you or Rami." She says to Kami. "I at least get to show off my big move."

Malus smiles as he stares at Lance. "I'm glad it's you. I kinda don't want to fight any dragons yet." He shoots a quick glance at Joe. "At least not until later."

Kris turned to face Nabiki.
"Okay, am I good or what?" Kris said with a chuckle.
