I like the idea. This is a really good idea, and it sounds like something I could relatively stay involved in.
...I still think an Avatar rp sounds good, though.....

Alright cool.
((btw, Fire Emblem is ready for take off. if you need to post in an area not made yet, go ahead and make a thread for it. if it's a place we didn't make, use numbers on the map to explain where is it and simply say so in a (()) at the begining.))

I like my idea! Vote for me! And yeah, making it like how in Nine Hearts magic prevents death but not anything else would be cool.

Why can't we do both?
((latin trumpet fanfare plays))
so it seems CP is in. and Isis. Ice, Dy? how 'bout you freaky fellas?
one thing I definately think though, is we should not do a magic or health system like in Nine Heart. It's great for that, but I feel like it would be too much info again.
and if every one is for this, we need to establish the basics for the main planet. Just the name, and make sure everyone is on the same page with its 'style'. medeval fantasy right? or did CP ninja in before me again? (you're doing that alot to me lately you know lol)
oh and, I'm not going to name a mod for this one, becasue we're all contributing. Shenanagins can be discussed over a bullshitometer reading in a comment thread. k? that doesn't mean anything goes it just means no one is specifically 'in charge' of the entire RP. I imagine should we do OL's RP, if you create a world, you are a sort of mini-mod of characters from there, but that's about it.

Yeah, I wasn't going to use Nine Hearts Life % system. I don't think it'd really fit in.
And co-modding? Alright, let's see how this goes.

I'm okay with that!
Thought's I've had include...
-World Name? -This is medieval fantasy, right? Do we have clever things like radios for communication? -How do the battles go time-wise? Are the champions always at the arena, or do they go at certain times during the year to resolve all issues since the last meeting, or is it more of they go when there's conflict? -There are arena based battles, are we going to involve people from nations who come to watch? Like friends/family/political figures interested in making sure champions from their nation can kick butt? -Can magic involve things like calling creatures/summons to fight for the champion? -And when you say 'magic' it doesn't have to be overly traditional, right? -And since our people are likely going to be bad ass because they're essentially fighting for their countries and are hand picked for that reason....can we pull a Fates and have weaknesses listed? That way we don't come off overly OP -How long has the League been going, anyways?
There will possibly be more....eventually. I had more comments/questions, but it's been a looooooong day.

ANSWER TIME IS A GO.
Q: World Name? A: I dunno. I was thinking we could all make it up since we're all going to be in for this.
Q: This is medieval fantasy, right? Do we have clever things like radios for communication? A: No radios, no fancy pants technology. If you want, there can be somewhat-steampunky technology or "Magi-tech/Hex-tech" technology that combines magic with "technology". But yeah, no instant teleporters, no radios, let's keep the focus on medieval technologies and magic here.
Q: How do the battles go time-wise? Are the champions always at the arena, or do they go at certain times during the year to resolve all issues since the last meeting, or is it more of they go when there's conflict? A: Matches at the arena occur on an issue by issue basis. If an issue is big enough to require an arena match to settle it, that match will happen then or the next day or two after that decision has been made. Otherwise, there's no reason "champions" can't have practice matches amongst themselves. For the battles themselves, there is no time limit. It's just whoever accomplishes the "winning condition" for that particular arena first wins.
Q: There are arena based battles, are we going to involve people from nations who come to watch? Like friends/family/political figures interested in making sure champions from their nation can kick butt? A: Sure, if you want. Most arenas could/would be sort of remote to prevent backlash to people from the magics used there, but there could be more "popular" arenas or at least magically-broadcasted ones.
Q: Can magic involve things like calling creatures/summons to fight for the champion? A: Yeah, of course. Not permanent summons though. They need to have some sort of condition that makes their summoned time limited.
Q: And when you say 'magic' it doesn't have to be overly traditional, right? A: Explain "overly traditional".
Q: And since our people are likely going to be bad ass because they're essentially fighting for their countries and are hand picked for that reason....can we pull a Fates and have weaknesses listed? That way we don't come off overly OP A: Weaknesses sound good. But when you put up weaknesses they have to be specifics. Nothing vague. Nothing like "Yeah, if you maybe sorta burn something near me I'll be screwed, but no garentees". I mean, maybe the best way to do it would be to look at everyone else's champions and actually list which of their abilities would "counter" your champion.
Q: How long has the League been going, anyways? A: Not for very long. Maybe about 30 years.

Umm...for overly traditional I mostly meant do the spells have to be said, and can we use different mediums and methods for techniques? Cause I've got some potentially interesting ones floating around, that aren't all that common.
And is there a limit to how many champions for nation? Just out of curiosity.

Do whatever the heck you want for spells/abilities CP. Anything at all. If you want to summon demonic bunnies from a magical hat that you pull out of a suitcase, go for it. Whatever floats your boat.
And no, there's no real "limit". However, if there start to be a lot of peeps being made for one side, I'll probably request we balance it out/try to balance it out myself. Don't forget that your champs don't "have" to be on a side. They could always be neutral.

wow, way to cover like all the bases CP...that answers a lot. *gold star to you*
I think the types of magic should be broad, because that was sort of a big appeal of this idea, that we could have a lot of flexibility due to differing countries etc.
also, just a thing that crossed my mind, Sure, there might not be radios, but couldn't they use magic? with like...crystals or...suttin'?
----------
I deffinately agree with listing weaknesses like in Fates. maybe not listing tecniques like Outer said, just because not all of us might format our bios in a way that abilities might be listed.
-
also, for people who make some of the places, sould we make like a small template for a country bio? nothing complex, just things like races there, common magic style and maybe a few ideologies?

I'm with Ink on the not listing techniques all the time, as sometimes the powers a person uses can leave a weakness. As long as it's specific enough to be understood, and it's something that could actually happen I think it should work.
And country bios sound like fun! Might help with some character backgrounds.
And Ink, I think of questions for fun. It amuses me greatly. As do demon bunnies. I can and probably will incorporate them. Yay convenient character designs!
