Desiderius watched. He didn't seem to worried, however all of the guards, messengers, and other assorted military personal in the fort stopped and stared at the spectacle.
"Back to work." The Viceroy said to all of those who had stopped. He turned his gaze back to Aleine. "I suggest we take this talk elsewhere. Come with me" desideirus pulled Aleine away from Slade as he lead her to a seperate room.

"Listen." Desiderius said a shut the door closed behind him. He sighed once but looked up at Aleine and continued.
"As I have said before, I have no wish to get in your way. Not to mention your plans don't get in the way of mine...So how about this: I help you out, and in doing so I help myself out." Desiderius spoke somewhat cryptically.

"Come now Desiderius, what's in it for you?" Aleine asks "Just, letting me go, giving me protection? The emperor would call that treason, especially considering who I am." she says "And don't lie and say it's charity. I won't believe that from a man who had his parents killed to gain power."

"I know you want to help him in his goals, and all I want is peace...Imagine that world...Aleine...My goal is far greater than this short term rebellion...I want to help both countries florish again. And I believe we can do this." Desiderius extended his hands dramatically.
"And as for my parents...I'll tell you this much...I did not kill them for power...It is another goal that will be accomplished in the long term...I still mourn for them...but it was not I that planned their death...they did..." Desiderius lowered his arms, but kept his face calm.
"So choose Aleine: Do you still want to keep arguing with me, or do you want to accept my offer?" Desiderius asked.
