Desiderius nodded. "Alright. I have a private room with communications set up already. Follow me and we can discuss matters with the Emperor."
The Viceroy handed some papers to a runner, and led the way to a separate room. It was much smaller than the first room, and less busy. It was a small study that only had a single table. On the table were some radio and communication devices, along with a couple other maps and reports.
"Angela. Set up a call to the Emperor. We will need to alert him of Elric, Jaxin...well let's just say we have a lot to talk about..." Desiderius sighed as he spoke to his assistant.

"Nero and Largos...they're captured. The Gonzales unit has turned on us as well, seeing Elric as his ultimate master. He took over his drones, they have a small army now under their command." Darien says. "That's the other point we need addressed."

Angela listens as she dials the capital "Yes, get me the Emperor, we have reports on Lavstin." She says and waits for the Emperor to be put on the line. "Yes, just a moment my lord." she says and presses a button on the phone that caused a light on the radio to turn on. she sets down the phone "Alright, we're ready." she says
"Desiderius, calling from fort Farragut? why aren't you in Lavstin?" the Emperor asks, skipping any greetings.

"Lavstin has been captured by my rebellious siblings. The capitol has fallen, and most of the Arcadisians have fallen back to Fort Farragut. However we have some...interesting news that may cause some issues." Desiderius spoke carefully.
"We had many traitors that were flushed out during the battles...Jaxin was a traitor, however he was killed during the battle...The more important matter is the presence of...your son. We cannot confirm if he was being controlled, coerced, or was there under his own accord, but this is a important fact we need to take into account when we begin our counterattack to retake the capitol." Desiderius finished for the moment.

"Uncle, it seems he was this Sairca Thaddeus reported as the General and the Duke's killers." Darien says. "His butler is with him too. He attacked Latalia and Draco's men outright. I have to report that this revelation was made by...Slade. He saw through his disguise when Elric used his telekinesis on him." Darien admits bitterly.

"I see..." the Emperor says "So that's where he's been. Good work Slade. It is troubling to know that this is where he has been, and yet a slight relief that the mystery is done. One of your objectives will be of course to capture him. Then we can sort out if he is being controled somehow, or if he's throwing a tantrum." he maintains control over his emotions, not showing any sign of being thrown off by this. "And Jaxin Valdirum was a traitor as well? That is most shocking...who killed him?"
"Adris Valdirum my Lord." Latalia says "He is with us as well."
"His son?...Hmm, well done Adris. You have stained your name as that of one who has murdered his father, in the name of Arcadis. A noble sacrifice, I am truely happy to know such loyalty is not lost to the world. You have no doubt redeemed the Valdirum name." Eldrast says.
"Thank you my leige." Adris says
"That is not enough of a reward...no in these times young men like yourself need to be rewarded for their valor. Hmm, I think it only suiting that you be knighted for your acts, and...perhaps made a duke. Yes, that is what shall be done. When you arrive in the capital it shall be made official." the Emperor says.
Adris was shocked and speechless.
"Now then, what of the others?"
"Relena has sided with the rebels, as was expected. Also, Largos and Nero have been captured." Angela says.
"They were captured?" Eldrast asks, sounding displeased.
"Yes, and from what we understand in an unglorious way. Nero was running from a fight and Largo barely put up one." Angela says
"Grrr! That little worm made me look like a coward?!" a second, all too familiar voice says "Oh you better bring him back so I can make him pay for making me look like a coward! That good for nothing blasted little weakling!"
"Nero. Calm yourself." the Emperor demands.

Darien raises an eyebrow. "Nero? Intriguing. I never suspected you'd have body doubles." Darien says.
"Worst case do we off the prisoners? Largos knows a bit much and if this body double's doing a shit job then is he worth preserving?" Slade asks.
"Oh and Uncle, one...other thing." Darien says. "I captured the Princess Danielle and I propose we use her to bolster support for our Viceroy. Of her siblings she's one of the more favored as she is the eldest sister and a vocal patriot of Tektallium. If we make a deal to force her cooperation, perhaps sparing one of her other siblings from our wrath...we could force her into a marriage and act as a focus for rallying Tektallian loyalists to the cause. A puppet spokeswoman. Make up for Father's limited vision in his use of that traitor Maria." Darien says. "If you consider it then I personally volunteer Adris. The future Duke needs a Duchess and...he's proven how far he'd go today if she became a...problem. Plus he helped in getting her out of there."
"No love for me?" Slade says.
"You're incapable of it and the public sees you as the attack dog you are. I'd offer myself but as I told Adris...I am done with having Tektallian women in my family." Darien says. "I'd prefer a loyal, strong and smart Arcadisian woman."

The Emperor can be heard chuckling in the background "An excellent idea Darien. Perhaps protection for her insane twin. He is the easiest to target. And she would accept if she is smart, because I don't need tobe offering her anything at all." he says "That is if Adris accepts."
Adris nods "Yes, I will accept if you ask it of me." he says
"Then Darien, you and Adris will return to the capital with your hostage, and we will make arrangements. Now, as for Nero's double. I thought it best to pull him back, as his powers have little use on machines. I got word that they were making a move and called him back as a percaution. I had his double replace him so even you would not suspect. Latalia I thank you for your aid in that."
"Of course sire." Latalia smiles.
"As for the prisoners, if Largos was really taken down so easily then he has lost his use to me. It is an insult to me that he would come out of retirement only to be such a miserable failure. The double, I could care less, the decision belongs to Nero."
"Kill him, I don't care. It's his job to die for me. Worthless little pansy." Nero says

Slade smiles. "Then they will die for the cause. I'll make sure to kill anyone near them so we can say the enemy died with them."
"They are our countrymen, stop sounding so happy. It's repulsive." Gunther says. "Bloody psychotic."
"He can't help it. He was hard wired to be a beast." Darien says. "I'll make the arrangements my Lord. We will be there in due haste."

"See that you do. I don't want those rebels to get help from the machines. I have sent more troops for you, to crush them, they should arrive soon. I trust you can devise a strategy on your own." The Emperor says "And Slade, do try to be consious of what you say. Darien had a point earlier, you do have a certain reputation with the people. If you truely wish to be a figure in Arcadis, you must work to gain their trust."

"I should do it in my own style though. I bathe in enough enemy blood and I will be likely forgiven for some...eccentricities." Slade says. "But I will take heed...Uncle."
Darien makes a fist. "Come along Adris. Let me make use of your final moments as my employee." He says, trying to sound like he's teasing him. "As we work on a mutually beneficial partnership. After all we do make a good intellectual team."
Slade smirks, almost proud of Darien's actions.

Adris nods. he was still a bit shocked that he was going to be made nobility. He had expected a promotion, and knight hood had exceeded that expectation alone. "Do you, want me to carry my fiance?" he asks, trying to joke back.

"Well we lost Baxter, but he was the expendable one of us." Slade says. "He wounded a few of them upon dying so..he did better than Largos."
