((OOC: Sorry for my temporary abscence...I kinda forgot there was a site to post on. I blame homework. And tests. And addictive ideas. I'd say it's not my fault....but I lack willpower. And I'm sadly very certain it will happen again.
Maybe if I shove them in an rp it won't happen again....))
Sapphire had scrapped her first drawing, because quite frankly, it sucked. She had a whole new-found respect for Zain, who drew excellent things on a sketchpad, in a hurry, without anything to balance the book on. Because quite frankly, it was not easy at all, and it wasn't like her artistic skills were much good to begin with.

Zain stands up strait as his cough leaves. he sees Sapphire trying to draw and uses basic earth magic to throw three boulders at her. (3% each)

"No fair sticking to what you know. TRY TO USE THE OTHERS MOVES!!! YOU MIGHT LEARN SOMETHING!!" Felix yells.
"You know it'd be awesome if Zain just did some big move with Sapphire's powers that she couldn't." Nabiki says.
Felix smiles. "That's what I mean. They can probably do different things based on their own style, they're just laying safe and it sucks."

Merlin smirks at Nabiki and Felix's comments.
"Come on Zain! Just cut yourself and try to, I dunno, bind her in place or something like she did to you back in the first round!," Kami yells from the side lines.

Seeing the three boulders hurtling her way, Sapphire pulled her drawing from the sketch pad, figuring that at the very least it would make a halfway decent shield. The thing's feeble structure gave way to the boulders, but managed to slow them down enough to let Sapphire move out of the way, though one boulder still hit her. Sapphire then focused, and because the drawing didn't have much of a stable structure to crush, it picked itself up with the 'head' dangling at an awkward angle before beginning a lumbering charge towards Zain. (7% damage) Sapphire took a moment to consider her options. She'd tried controlling Zain's own drawings, without much luck and though it was easier to control her own, and it wasn't that much easier. That left her with his ultimate, which she was very strongly opposed to using and curses. Great....Life=94% --------------- "That could be dangerous, though," Jasper pointed out, muffling his laughter at the sight of Sapphire's drawings. "After all, they both specialize in things that aren't commonly taught, so they don't know what they're doing at all. I don't blame them for being cautious." "And Sapphire is a horrible artist," Nio added, rather unnecessarily. "Curses just go against her nature. That alone makes the fight harder on her, at least. Zain could be having similar issues." To describe the battle as 'raging' would be a dramatic overstatement of how the last round of the finals played out. Though Zain and Sapphire occasionally threw in a few good shots at one another, a majority of the damage dealt was self inflicted.
Zain had attepted to fly again, only to crash into the walls and ceiling several times, though he had managed to take Sapphire with him once. Sapphire, had slowly begun to get an idea of how to work Zain's drawings, and found using her own were more controlable. That did not substitue for her horrendous drawing skill though, and several of her attepts resulted in indistiguishable blobs of what many have been animals if you squinted and had a few drinks. In an attmpt to re-take the air, she had drawn what may have been a bird, that was so far from aerodynamic, it was pathetic to watch it try to fly. Zain continued to attempt Sapphire's blood magic, and through much trial and error, had gotten decent at her wards, which were all that had prevented him from nearly paralyzing himself in an attempt to get Sapphire.
After what was and excruciating half hour of the combatants slowly beating themselves down to exhaustion, Sapphire remembered that the waves Zain had used were a very simple drawing, and made her own attempt to flood the arena. She had suceeded, in what was the first legitimate move of the day, as a torent of ink poured from the pages of the sketch pad and knocked Zain back, pinning him to the opposite end of the arena.
As he was hit by the ink, Zain came to a realization that the ink and blood were very similar, in that both were made up mostly of water, and forms of earth. This realization led him to break free of the ink and cut his palm on one of his horns. Placing a hand on the arena wall, he ran along it a drew a wave in blood. Zain then managed to use blood as his ink, and released a massive wave at Sapphire, trapping her beneath.
Sapphire was about to black out from loss of oxygen when suddenly the blood wave vanishes. Zain had passed out from the bloodloss his many attempts had caused.
It was now up to Merlin to make the call of who would be winner; Sapphire who had won the battle, or Zain who had learned to turn Sapphires power into his own.

After a long silence as they await Merlin's judgment, Felix speaks up. "Well, no matter who wins, one thing is for certain: Sapphire needs to take art classes."
Roy does a face palm. "Damn it Dad."
Nabiki takes Kami's hand and squeezes it as they wait, nervous for Zain.

Merlin had been pretty bored throughout the fight. It seemed like it had gone on, to him at least, for 27 days. ((OOC: WINK WINK NUDGE NUDGE))
Now that it was over, he stands up out of his chair and stretches. Noticing everyone waiting for his calls, he says with a raised eyebrow, "What? No cheering? It's obvious who won. Since Zain passed out and Sapphire is the only one left conscious she is winner." He yawns. "Doesn't really matter what Zain learned to do since it was too late and he passed out from blood loss. Better luck next time for him I guess." With a snap of his fingers Zain is teleported to the med ward. Confetti blows off from the walls and lights shine down on Sapphire as an applause track is played. "So congratulations Sapphire! You're the number one student of your class for this year!"
Isaac shakes his head. He knew that Zain lost the moment he passed out, but he had hoped that maybe Merlin would have done some random thing to decide the victory like he had done to himself.
"Yes! Amazing! Congratulations!," Rami yells happily, clapping for Sapphire.
Kami groans. "Dammit. We should go check on him.," she says sadly to Nabiki.

Sapphire made her way up to the others, tired and sore, even if it was mostly her own fault. ''Thanks,'' She said with a smile, looking to Merlin, ''Is it safe for me to use my own abilities yet?''

Erov frowned "So he still needs work."
Raimeri looks at him "He's second, that's not bad."
"It's not the best. We need to assure he's the best." Erov says.
Illyana sighs "Aww nuts. I wanted Zain to win..."
Ezrah nods "Hmm, I though he might have for skill. Oh well. Some good did come of it."
"What's that?" Illy asks
"Well at least you know he was never some sort of depressed cutter. That boy clearly has no idea which veins and arteries will spill the most blood. he just sliced wherever it came out."
"DAD!" Illyana says, shocked.

"Well if this was the last test, Merlin has to go over who passed, who failed and then it's summer time." Malus says.
"Zain, honey...you ok?" Nabiki says, taking one of his hands.
"Wow...someone making me look like I have tact. I think I'm about to lose faith in the world." Felix says, looking at Ezrah.
