What do you mean by classes? Like the classes the students take in school or their mastery in certain elements?
And what do you mean about Malus' transformational abilities? He doesn't have any in his bio so we don't really know what you're talking about.

Yes Dynamax, you do go up a level. To Adept if you weren't already one. Malus, since he's third year, could probably be expert with Fire since he does lightning stuff. Most likely higher level capable or lower level Adept with Lightning. Dont' remember the rest of his magics off the top of my head atm, but within that trend that I gave examples for.
As for his transformation into a dragon, that seems more like a racial-thing than a school-year thing. Since he's half dragon he can probably turn into full dragon temporarily. Depends on how much training you have him do in this.
And good job CP! Ice and I will get right to looking at your abilities and PM you our thoughts on them.

ALRIGHT PEOPLE. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
It's been more than 3 months since Chapter 3 ended and Joe and I asked you all to update your character's bios for the start of Chapter 4.
So far I'm the only one to have actually updated all of their characters.
CP updated Sapphire, and I'm pretty sure that's the only one she really plans to use in battle much at all, so she's effectively finished too.
The rest of you however have made essentially no progress towards this at all.
Joe and I are sick of waiting. We think you've all had plenty of time and haven't done much of anything. Screw excuses. Screw jobs. Screw everything, etc. It's simply you not wanting to.
So, either you all get to updating those bios and fixing up those characters for the start of chapter 4, or you can pretty much call this RP dead forever. Because that's what it stands at right now.

first off I'd just like to point out that outer you as you said, are the only one who has finished. Even Legendary-Ice-Joe hasn't. So calm down a bit. Personally, I'd be more eager to come up with moves for the rest of my guys if we were posting more in 9H in general. the last time you brought this up there was a surge in posting shortly after and it was easier to think of things. Another thing that stunted my inspiration was how it took a bit for you guys to get back to me when I sent you the moves I had come up with, and was told I should change them to be less darkness orientated, even after I had earlier asked if it was ok if they were more geared towards that. So I've been getting mixed messages at least there. It's really up to you two. it's your RP. It would be cool to get it going again, I'd like to see what you have planned. But I'll be honest and say flat out that I don't like that we have to edit the bios so much, mostly because of all the things you've added along the way. If all of the types of magic and battle system and all that were set and ready at the begining, I don't think I'd mind so much at all because I'd be familiar with it. Try to realize the rest of us don't plan things for it as much as you and Ice have, so a lot of the system of magic and terms and so on take a bit more to grasp. And along with that, think of this: these thing weren't there when we started. But as more and more stuff has been added (totally not a bad thing), it has sort have become geared against people who like having a lot of characters. If we had known the bios were going to be something that would evolve as we went on, at this scale, we wouldn't have made so many to begin with. In hindsight you know? I know I for sure have a few of my 'student' characters...I really just plain old don't care for them to be all that envolved in battles. So I don't want to make the extra moves for them I won't use ever. I can see why your mad, you should be. 9H is both of your baby.....I'll let you two sort out who get's to be the mom....but do try to see it from our side as well. Honestly, this is the first RP I have ever been in that has had so much of a system to it. and I've done this for...dang at least 7 years. I'm used to most of the effort being put into the story of the RP, not so much the system of it. (EDIT: By system, I mean it's turning into a D&D sort of thing. Litterally, we have health now, you said earlier we're going to have to wait for you to tell us if our moves/actions work. that sort of thing. Which as I said above isn't bad, but I know I wouldn't have made more than Zain had I known that. Also with that, try not to take offense to this but I feel like you guys are trying to force your plot on us a bit. It's not horrible, but I still feel like anything we try to do, little side plots for our own characters, get pushed aside by the things you guys have planned out. Again, to compare it to D&D, it feels like 9H is becoming less about the characters story, and more about how they go through your story. You get what I mean? Not a bad thing just not at all what any of us thougt we were getting into.) That's my imput. I will say I have contacted CP and reminded her of our humble home here. Noble get's on but doesn't post much any more. You know Dy will post if others do, and so will I. aura and isis aren't even involved. Ultimately it's your decision. If you don't want to go ahead any more, better to stop now while we're at a decent end point between the years than to get into the middle of one and just have it fizzle out again. If you do think we can keep it going, then let's. I personally would just like this to stop being such a pain to everyone, we're getting too stressed out. THIS IS A FUN PLACE!!!1!  |

Alright. I'm going to try and just recap exactly what's going on here and my side and just talk about this RP. Hopefully this will get everyone on the same page.
Firstly, yes, i do realize I'm the only one to have fully updated all of my characters. Ice has already been constantly berated by me for not updating or posting here nearly as much as I do. For crying out loud, he has this website set as his default page when he loads up a browser! Not really much more I can do there. If anything it's probably because he works late shifts now and tries to run a Dagohir group and tries to run a nerf group and co-DMs a campaign based off this RP with me.
Which leads me to this, Nine Hearts has sort of become a DnD thing. I'll admit that flat out. In a way, it always was a DnD RPG. At first it was more like the other RPs on this site. Then Ice came up with some cool ideas for ability tiers and power levels to gauge the strengths of everyone's characters, so we added those to see how they'd work out. You all seemed pretty okay and positive about it, so we continued with it.
The entirety of Chapter 3 is all me. That entire part of the story was my idea. The Life system and Damage Value system? I made that up. I got the idea from this one RP site similar to this that my friend James showed me. The entire site was basically one very large Megaman Starforce RP, with a Life and Damage system very similar to the one I introduced into this RP. I used it because I thought it was a really cool concept and could help avoid some of the problems we were having with early finals matches (I.E. Zain vs Isaac) in which no one really knew when they were defeated/lost.
Ice was a bit hesitant to use the system since he thought it sounded complicated, but I managed to convince him. I even asked you guys if you thought it sounded cool and if you wanted to give it a shot.
I realize the system makes everything a lot more complicated. Particularly for characters that you guys like to battle with. However, I do think at some point I said you guys didn't have to update every single one of your characters, just the ones you were going to fight with the most often. And it's not like Ice and I aren't here to help you and answer questions with everything either. Granted, we took a while to get back to you Ink, but I was also really busy IRL around that time, so sorry about that. I'm pretty sure I sent a response back to you at some point about the abilities you sent me.
As for your side stories/character interactions, the reason Ice and I have so many problems with them is not because of what they are, but because of how much time ends up being wasted. All of Chapter 1 is basically side plots and no actual RP plot. Maybe this was a miscommunication on the part of us when making the RP, but Nine Hearts does in fact have a major plotline and we try to keep it on track.
To add onto that, it's getting really old that this whole "hatred of sideplots and character interactions" thing we keep getting accused of keeps popping up. We made an entire seperate board section for you guys to do things like that! There has been an ongoing thread in there for the last 3 months titled "Summer" for you guys to just have a blast and do whatever with each other for the time period between Chapters 3 and 4! It's not our fault if you don't even post in there and then complain that nothing is going on in the RP!
The last major reason we haven't moved onto Chapter 4 is because I don't want to move onto Chapter 4 until everyone has updated the character bios of their characters. And by that, I mean the main students, like Zain, Nabiki, Kris, Roy, etc. Maybe threatening the "end of the RP" was a bit exteme, but hey, at least it actually got someone's attention!
*sighs* Anyways, that's how it stands right now. If how the RP is going for you guys right now is too much effort to the point that no one wants to update their bios or move on with the story or even post in the Summer section, then maybe we should just call it quits here. It's really up to you guys. Joe and I like this RP, but we're only 2 out of 5 people who post in here.

well, I'm glad we're starting to get on the same page. (I will laugh if this post starts a new page in the topic)
ok let's try to get this in the same general order so it's less confusing....
-Would it be fair if we told you who the peeps we intend to be our fighters are, and then those be the only ones we update? Last I remember, it was we had to at least have all our students done, no teachers or parents.
-yes you did get back to me, I was just pointing out the miscommunication that had happened.
-I think the reason why the side topics for our plots has sort of failed, is because the main plot is happening/going to happen, at the same time. There's a potential for paradoxes and continuity errors with that. For example...Ok! Say we started part 4 tonight and...er...Sapphire asks Isaac what he did while he was with Illyana and her dad. Well he could say 'Oh I learned stuff blah blah,' but right now, all you have to go on is : 'Well we sat on a hill and talked about how to impress the water spirit'. "How'd you do it?"....Isaac would have to buffer to answer. lol. See what I mean? and there could be relevant plot that happens in those side things that would apply to the main plot, but we wouldn't know about them because of posting in two different times at the same time.
-So, I'm gunna' have to be a sort of Switzerland on this one. I'm willing to keep going if we can, but at the same time I feel like maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to take a breather for a bit, maybe come back with year two in a little while so everyone can...idk, make sequal bios or something? Then maybe get exactally how D&D esque it's going to be figured out? I like it too, the magic tree thing really worked well with it being a school, and a few of the other things were good too. But then there were other parts that...er well didn't work as well as they sounded like they would lol. it's sort of learning experiance....
Not sure how long it will take for the others to put in imput if they do. Like I said, I talked with CP so she should be on some time. no clue about Noble, but I do know Dy's summer has been chaotic to say the least, and the past few weeks seem to be the worst from what he's told me. (Guy had rioting going on like...20mins walking distance from his house...And that's not even the chaos I'm talking about!) So needless to say not too sure when he'll get a chance to be on, or how long he'll be able to, it sort of sounded like things were calming down but don't quote me on that lol.

I kinda agre with ink. I love the rp, (Helped come up with the name!!!)
But the fact that we are doing your story, and not a normal hey guys, lets see how this unfolds as the story progress's. it makes it kinda stagnant when we wanna do something but its in the way of your main plot so u usher it into the backstories.
Kinda like when Dynamax inky and myself had that whole kris and illy break up thing going. Roy was supposed to do this thing where his character split into multiple people and try to stop the split. im not bashing on anything. just pointing out a thing.
Im updating my main guy and one other guy cause they are my main peeps, but even if they arent updated we should continue the story, Ice and myself have had many talks and weve planned for so much more stuff to happen,.........and id love to continue it. so lets alrighty!!!

Ok, I'm going to type this as fast as I can because this signal is weak.
Right now, no net, cable's off and even if we pay Friday it might be shut off again soon after as we're that far behind. Possibly fixable but we'll have to see.
That weak ass signal...this si the first time it worked for me and that's on my wife's computer. the other one is so old it's not catching it. Sorry i'm typing this here but I'm taking my chances that this is my only post that's gonna work.
Most of my points are shared by Ink. I do get what you'r trying to do and it's awesome on paper but the execution's been shaky. I'm kinda stuck trying to figure out how to do this as...I do feel I just finished modding my guys for the last bit.
I also share that thought that if I knew this was happening you'd see like...the bare minimum from me in regards to people. I'd have made Roy, Malus Ryuji, Nabiki, Nerina, made either Jim or Dale as Earth teacher and not have both and Felix and my two bad guys and that's it. Just kind of seems daunting to keep up, y'know?

Secondly, as a guy who played a few rounds of D&D in his time (both tabletop and computerized)...there is time to develop story and characters if you're doing a massive campaign. The only times one really rushes to the action is in a shorter campaign where it's a 'go to the dungeon of whatever and kill the dread wizard Sassypants' or something.
Personally...I find myself a bit cheated in a way. I never got to lay the groundwork for any of my guys before chapter 1 ended. (I was there for what, the last 5 minutes) never got to play the new student part up with Nabiki or establish Roy as a quiet loner just looking for a friend. So yes I'm struggling to establish my characters a bit harder...I lack the history of any of the others, what I do feel forced as I'm trying to do it along the main plot, mostly by exposition as we sit through tests or something...it's frustrating that I try to do something meaningful to have a real moment outside of *insert test here* or *enemy attack here* and so I try and...either I get told to wind it back or time skips happen.
It's to the point where I'm afraid to. What if i want one of my characters to go on a date with another (like Malus and Axelle who I feel are kind of trapped being a year higher than the others). I don't know if we're time skipping after classes are over. I can't leave during major tests and if big battles happen...oh well.
And the other way around, if we do plan something big for when things are over. Like...Nabiki and Zain were supposed to have some big moment after the attack during the mid terms. Ink and I had it planned.
Time Skip coming.
....so then we try to decide things in PM's and it's...weak.
So it feel like we should whatever ourselves through big moments.
Nerina and Atorus getting married. Happened during the time skip. We're too scared to map it out and get intrruptd as Nrina walks the aisle. (not what is happening, just an example)
Hell...after the finals I was going to kill someone off. Couldn't. Time Skip *BOOM*. I even talked to one of you about this death.
I now have this extra person whose death was quite planned. A death I do NOT want to skip over. (Sending a reminder PM to you Outer, i hope it goes through. I don't want spoilers...and no worries gang I'll at least say it's a side character.)
So inspiration is a struggle for me. I feel like having half my guys leave for ....reasons. Yes, the guy who can make 10 guys in a day. Because that's easy. Creation is better than modifying what exists. One because a person can be content with what they got. Secondly...we just did that. If we had some pacing in between tests, like if summer break was an actual arc I'd say we'd be more inclined to have done our work. Heck, make it the point of the break, to develop, inspire and remake your guys. It'd work a bit better and not feel so...forced.
EDIT: Signal kicked out had to repair the link twice to hold it. Wife's up so I wont be able to see anything until...I dunno.
For the record I'm not trying to bash the RP or your ideas. It's good. It just...the execution's questionable.

Okay guys. Thanks all of you for replying to this.
This feedback is so much better than just not hearing anything from you guys at all, even though a lot of it seems to be negative.
I'm going to ingest this for a bit and talk to Ice, then reply with something here. Ice is probably going to post either before or after me because i told him to look at this since he hasn't yet.
