Hello,
So my roleplay will be called Lunaria: New Earth, this is an original and this is kinda a weird request, but I would like to do an anthro rp. I know it sounds kinda stupid and stuffs, but eventually I'd like to make it into a Taps 3 interactive fiction game available for purchasing and download.
So In accordance with the Rules of the Thread here's my idea.
Time Period: 3,000 years after "The fall of man", 1,000 after the fall of the last human king. Animals have become intelligent, and formed their own tribes and kingdoms, therefore the society can range from primitive to monarchy, to robes and spires, a generally Medieval Theme persists throughout the world however. Kinda similar to Thundercats, I guess.
Technology: Very limited probably similar to the feudal ages in all the continents. I.E. There are swords and spears and so forth. Guns have been developed but are very rare. There is advanced technology left by the ancestors (but it's not very prevalent until the very end of the story. ) And are runes. Runes left behind give messages and so forth. These give quests to the player characters, and are only available on the astral plane.
Magic: Magic is mostly elemental drawing on a particular species affinities, as well as the affinities of their patron deities. The particular affinities a player has the farther he or she can go up a particular skill tree, one can also alter their affinities. I.E. wolves dedicated to Fenrir, would have greater strengths but their affinity would lean more towards fire, darkness and chaos, which would allow them to move farther up those skill trees. Magic in this universe would be based on a person's tribal marking. The markings are symbols that a patron deity bestows on their followers and usually correspond to phases of the sun and moon. Further deities themselves will have affinities towards light/dark, order/chaos. The rules is usually races on opposite ends of the spectrum usually oppose one another. However, this is not always the case. Magic is further limited only to healers and shamans, however all players call upon their patron deity to perform a specific skill.
(Skill Trees and Deities for particular species will be posted later.)
Dreamsong: Dreamsong is a particular kind of magic that allows the patron deities of a particular tribe to communicate with a player character of a specific dedication, basically quests, if a person completes a quest that is given through Dreamsong, it'll strengthren the players bond with that particular deity. Dreamsong can also be used by players to communicate with Gaia and reach the astral plane, shamans and healers (in more tribal societies) and scholars and bards (in more medieval societies) have much more of an affinity to dreamsong than other classes.
Markings:The symbols that indicate a player character has dedicated to a deity above all the others. Going against one's patron deity once a marking is recieved causes physical damage to the character and also lowers the characters stats.
Species: All non-mythic species are allowed. Humans in this verse are considered a mythic. Dragons exist in this verse, however; only two light and dark. Please limit it to animal species that exist on this planet. As for the way they react to one another. That will be posted in a later thread, however; rivalries from reality will carry over to the RP as a general rule. Since, I'm not an ABEC major I don't really know all the animal rivalries, if something from this creation does not match up with known animal rivalries please P.M. me and I will fix my mistake. For some starters, wolves have a very tribal society, lions live in a monarchy, hyenas live in a matriarchy, rats are essentially one big family etc. The Species affects a player character's base stats, as well as their peak stats. Some skill multipliers remove some species weaknesses however, but they end as soon as SP is used up. Restoration of SP is done through eating and resting, like it would be done in real life. Species affinities would also fall somewhere on the alignment spectrum, usually in accordance with their patron deities, but sometimes not. Although in the later case one would need to provide a relatively good reason why, as going against a Patron deity weakens the player character, reducing their stats, and even blocking off some skills in a particular skill tree.
Special Rules Within A Society:
Hierachy: There is a certain hierarchy within each of the societies, with foreigners and non-dedicated starting at the bottom, however; challenges between two people can be declared, in this case both parties would have to accept. If the player challenges someone in a higher position and wins. They can take over their role. For this reason alone, the leader of a specific society will oftentimes also be the strongest and most in tune with their patron deity. There will often be specific battlegrounds and ceremonies within a particular society where these battles take place. For instance for the Lions that would be in a Colosseum. Things like this will be elaborated on further. This I felt would be kinda fun like a PVP type scenario.
Death: You only get one life in this game, you may walk different paths, but you only get one life to use. If one dies without a healer or a shaman around. Then one dies permanently. If a character dies in battle with enough spirituality, or enough connection to a particular deity however; Ascension may take place, just like in the Norse Myth of Valhalla, the great hall of heroes. Generally ascended are stronger than non-ascended, however; there are even more dire consequences for "betrayal." of a patron deity.
Note from the Author: Because of the scope of this project, if anyone has any recommendations for where to start, that would be most helpful. Also if you would like me to further clarify a point please say so. Skeleton of character sheets will be posted later, along with some of the base stats for particular species and dedications. If anyone's actually interested in this idea please comment below thank you.
Note Extra: Comment below for any questions or concerns.
