Myself and the council of elders (CP, Isis and aura) convened and came up with the idea for a Digimon RP! Something nostalgic I think all of us have had a taste of. It takes bits and pieces from the different seasons and throws them into a world! Here are the basics:
The world:
-The real world doesn’t know about the digital world, but there are those in the digital world who know about the real world. There are evil digimon who want to take over both the digital, and real world, however there is one pesky snag that slows their movements: only humans can open the doors between the digital and real world. So in order to leave the digital world, a digimon needs a human.
Tamers:-We mean tamers like in season’s 1-3. A human and a digimon who work together.
-Tamers can be any age. That being said, it is possible that if you have an older tamer, that they know about digimon already and have been hiding it, living in the digital world, etc. Try to not do too many of these.
-There will be both good, and evil tamers. (We liked the concept of there being evil tamers with the evil digimon)
-The good tamers are of course the Digidestine
-The bad guys are the Dark Destine
Digimon:-Digimon digivolve in the following order:
baby--->in training--->rookie--->champion--->ultimate--->mega
-*once they’ve reached rookie, they’re usually in this form unless really beat bad.
-*Like in seasons 1&2, to progress to ultimate the tamer needs to find their crest. (just a refresher: crestas are things like the crest of kindness, friendship etc. It is an important aspect of that character. Good guys will have more positive things, while baddies might have more malicious ones.) You do not need approval to find your crest, however you do need approval to activate it.
-*mega is nigh impossible to accomplish. you MUST ask permission for this, and it’s almost safer to say we will tell you if it is possible for you to reach a mega form.
-*We are allowing armor digivolving! this form is between rookie and champion on the power meter. As a reminder, you find armor like you would find a crest, and the armor digivollution is usually something attuned to a certain skill (ie: speed, defence, strength, a specific element).
*these apply to digimon with a tamer. if you have just a digimon (ie: any of the digimon they met along the way in the series, the villains etc) these guidelines aren’t as strict. Still ask permission to go to mega, but to go to ultimate is more flexible. if you have any questions just ask.
Digivices:
-Digivices are an all-in-one. they do all the things the tamers need, such as scan cards, digevolve the digimon etc. these are also what are used to open portals between the digital and real world.
Cards:
-like in season 3, there will be cards if you so choose. the limit is 10 cards. Cards come in ‘packs’ so it’s up to you if they come with your digivice or if you find them in the digital world. Cards can only be used on rookie and below digimon.
Twin Digimon:
-for those who either didn’t see the American movie or the third Japanese movie that was the end of the American movie, twin digimon are when two digimon hatch from one egg. We are allowing this however you have to ask permission first. Also, it is limited to one pair per person. So if you want a tamer with twin digimon, make sure you are positive the one you’re asking for is it because you only get one.
Original Digimon:
-Is there not a digimon that speaks to you? You are allowed to create your own! they must be approved, but are fairly easy to do (for crying out loud baby and in training forms are basically glorified ovals).
Other reminders:
-baby digimon all have the same move; “Bubble blow: Produces bubbles from its mouth to intimidate the opponent.”. In training usually have one move. All other levels of digimon have two major moves, and can use lesser versions of these moves without saying what the attack is (ie, Agumon has the move Pepperbreath, but he could also breathe fire)
-if someone else has already taken the digimon you want to use, ask them if you can also have it. As you will see on the wiki, some digimon branch off into what they can digivolve into, so you might not have identical ones anyways.
-if you need to look up digimon, use the digimon wiki. it’s really helpful and lists not only the level of a digimon, but its possible digivolutions, and the moves for each level.
-there’s going to be a bio template for easy use. you can add to your bios if you want to add more info, but this will be the basics.
-we do ask that as your characters find crests, digivolve etc, that you update your bio with the new forms/ what their crest is.
-We don't intend for this to be your grandma's digimon. We want to make this less kiddie, and more like those pokemon manga where ekans get's decapitated and so on. So it's digimon all grown up.
