The island home of the Skycrests was, as it always was, brimming with energy. From the market place to the training grounds where the family members were trained, everyone was active, and had been since early in the morning. There were exams going on this day, and several members would by the end of the day, be considered adults.
But this was not the most important thing happening on the island this day. Near the center of the island was the family temple. An ordinarily uneventful place, only ever used for inducting in new heads of the clan and other positions like that. There were several floors to the tall building, many of which the family swore were never used. The most important floor was the top, where the source of the Skycrest family heads power slept.
Nana was perplexed. She wasn't drunk for once, so she wasn't imagining things. Or maybe for that reason she was. It seemed more likely that this was acctually happening. She watches the center of the room. "Is he waking up?" she mutters and looks at the sleeping man in the center of the room. He had stirred, which never happened. He had even almost opened his eyes a little. No one was being inducted as anything, so there was only one other reason he would wake up. "It's a big day...rise and shine...I just wonder which of the others it is..."
