"Who do you think you're talking to?" Danielle says. "I'm no idiot, but at least I'm being honest. It's more than you get from even some of your own men I'd wager. I'm a Viper in your midst Emperor, make no mistake about that. You just got enough on me to keep me in place, I'm no fool there. Let's just state the terms of this and get on with this already. I'm sure you got better things to do than talk to me."
"You watch your tongue." Darien says.
"Oh shut up already Darien. No one wants to hear it, besides, you're preventing your Emperor from addressing me with your theatrics. Let the man do his job." Dani says.
"I..." Darien shuts up.

The Emperor laughs "My my, quite the authoritative tongue you have Danielle, a quality I do like. Why, had you been born sooner I might have taken you as a wife myself." he chuckles and stands "But, I do have better things to do so I shall cut to the chase." he paces in front of his throne "The 'terms' as you so called them are this: You will give an address, publically announcing your support of Tektalium merging with Arcadis, and will put out a call for your siblings and countrymen to end their little attempt at a 'revolution'. You will then announce your engagement to Adris, as a symbol of the unity of our nations." he smirks.
Adris shifts a little, a subtle sign of the anxiety that gave him.
"After your address you and Adris will be wed then perhaps a short honeymoon," The Emperor looks at Adris "Your hometown maybe? You lived in the country if I'm not mistaken and it is lovely this time of year. Just a suggestion" he smiles at him, then brings his attention back to Danielle "You will serve Arcadis, and therefor me, for the rest of your days. In exchange for this you will be granted your life, and the life of your brother. If at any given time you go back on our agreement, you will be punished accordingly." He says and sits back down. he looks at his knights "Have I forgotten anything gentlemen?"
"I think she should have to quietly serve, sire." Archeros says

"And if you reign in on your end of the deal...I'll start killing on my end and I won't stop until you're dead...even if I must join you." Danielle says. "Oh and one last term: To remain fair...I won't accept any orders to harm my blood relatives on either side. I won't touch Des...or anyone else. I ask my...husband to be tied to that as well, else I might try to kill him myself. You grant that term...and it's a done deal."
Dani says. "And if I were older...You could have avoided this war and just married me instead of proceeding with this foolish and pointless slaughter. I know not why you went this far and I no longer care to know why, just...no matter what I say, I'm not putting my faith in you having a long reign. Your underestimating too much here and you have no idea of what's out there waiting to kill you. Not even Darien here truly knows...and he was among them."

The Emperor smirks "Well then I guess it's a good thing I have you now my dear, you can tell me all about this threat." he smiles "I can accept your term. You and Adris will not be ordered to harm your blood. Welcome to the Empire." he says and turns his gaze to Adris "Now, the next order of business. As much as I would liek to throw you a proper celebration for your heroism, we are in war time so it is not practical, I hope you don't mind if we combine that celebration with you wedding."
"Not at all my Lord." Adris says
"Wonderful. There is no reason to wait to give you your status though. Come." The emperor says, taking a sword from a servant.
Adris nods and walks over to him, glanceing at Danielle a moment as he passes her. He kneels in front of the Emperor nervously.
"Adris Valdirum, do you hearby swear to guard and protect Arcadis and her crown, no matter what must be done, and give your very life to fufilling this oath?" The Emperor asks, holding the sword over his head.
"Yes, My Emperor." Adris says
"Then as Emperor of Arcadis, I hereby name you a Knight of Arcadis, and grant onto you and your descentants a place within the Arcadisian nobility." he grins and touches his shoulders with the sword. "You may rise, young Duke."
Adris slowly stands, feeling like everything was happening so fast. He is slightly startled when Archeros begins to clap.

"Yes congratulations. I'm sure your Father would be proud." Danielle says bitterly.
"You don't stop, do you?" Darien says.
"I despise people who harm their own Darien. Which is why I made it my term. I am in this to protect my family from you as best I can. Since we're not in public I can admit to that without fear of our Emperor losing face since you all know it to be true." Dani says, glaring at him. "I have to claim loyalty, doesn't mean I have to be a kiss ass. Frankly I don't think he has enough ass with you here."

"So critical of your fiance without actually getting to know him. I am certainly surprised with you Danielle." The Emperor says "He was betrayed by a close family member, does that not sound any bit familiar to you?" he chuckles "Oh but no, you're right it is completely different. Adris must be a monster, to let such weak emotions control him. The feeling of betrayal from kin, its nothing." he says sarcastically "Who knew you were such a hypocrite Danielle? I really am learning so much about you in such short time, it's quite interesting. I might enjoy having you around as much as I do Desiderius."

"I may say I feel like killing Desiderius but nothing short of him trying to kill one of my own could ever make me." Dani says. "He is my brother. I don't wish him dead. Just maybe kick his ass a bit but not dead." She stares. "That decision, the decision to take his life lands on a jury of his peers in a court of law. And it is not the same thing. I will admit...I am biased from seeing the. Comes from my background. He is a lesser evil than Des...or you."

The Emperor smirks and chuckles "Is that so? Well I only sugest you be more understanding if you want your home to be a happy one."
Archeros scoffs "Fat chance of that happening..." he mutters.
Adris' remains rather passive, not outwardly reacting to the conversation.
"Behave." The Emperor says with slight irritation with Archeros. "Now then, moving on. I have a demonstration to observe. You may stay and watch from the sides." he says then directs his attention to the girl who had said nothing through the course of the conversation. "Lady Adelais, you're brother tells me your power could be of use to us, that in a way you could be as powerful as him." he says with interest "You may demonstrate your power to me, and we will see how you compare to the Nightmare or Arcadis hmm?" he smirks
Adelais bows a little "Yes Sire." she says quietly and steps out in front of him "I...will need a subject." she says
"Right, of course. You may pick someone out of the room, perhaps Archeros?"
"He won't do..." Adelais says timidly
"Hmph, my Archeros she certainly shot you down!" The Emperor laughs "Come now, we need a volunteer."
Adris moves off to the side where they had been instructed to watch from.

"Me." Darien says. "If my resolve is being doubted then let it be proven now." He steps forward. "I am no coward. I am an Armande." He walks up to the King and bows. "Do as you like to me My King."
Dani walks over to Adris and stands beside him, not saying anything.

The Emperor nods "Thank you Darien. Lady Adelais you may proceed."
Adelais nods and looks at Darien. A copy of him begins to appear behind him. "My powers allow me to manifest a side of a person, usually the side they are not proud to be, or that they deny. Lord Archeros would not have fit because he knows what he would see, and he has accepted that side of himself, he embraces it." she explains
