Leah looked at the adults. "Um...the director? Of this organization?" She thought for a minute before beginning, "Um...I don't mean to sound stupid, but I'm sort of a newbie here....what is this organization?"

"Oh that's right, sorry Leah, I forgot you don't know." Slater says
"The DAA, or, Department of Ascendant Associations..." Helen begins to explain as she flashes her id to security and leads them through the building. "is a top secret branch of the FBI, that's goal has been to investigate the possibility of humans with powers. Obviously that goal is going to change a bit as Andy seems to have verified your existance absolutely." she chuckles. "See, before all of this, all we knew of was Carson, and a man named Roger Scape. Roger has worked with us on many occasions, he was in Chicago most recently."
"Yeah...I sort of ditched him and Ramirez..." Slater sighs
"Not an issue, they're heading north on another mission." Helen smiles "Basically, we've been looking for you." she says, pressing a button on an elevator.

Helen chuckles "No, I declined the offer." she says as the elevator door opens. she walks in and puts her arm over the door so they could enter.
Slater looks shocked "Helen..why wouldn't you take it? You already know the job."
"There are more qualified people Andy..."
"Like who?" he asks
Helen moves her arm and presses for the floor they were going to as they all get in. as the door shuts she smiles "You."

Elijah whistled, "Yay promotion!" He paused for a moment before adding, "And that means the director's on our side!" He didn't think Slater would turn down the job, that'd be just silly, after all.

Leah's jaw dropped, and she gaped approvingly at Slater. "Good job! Yay, responsibility!" she smiled. "Sorry, not sounding so helpful...but really, you should seriously think about it. Sounds like a good opportunity. Especially if we weren't at risk with you in charge," she added.

Slater is in shock "Me?"
"Yes. I was offered the job first, but I refused because I think the person the director wanted to suceed him should. Now, the only reson this was ok with everyone is because I've had you help me before, and I know what I'm doing...So I can help you." Helen says.
Slater takes a deep breath "wow....I...I'll do it."

Gabriel smiles as he reaches into his pocket and pulls out a cell phone. He takes a picture of Slater's expression. "For Carson. He'd want to see that look on your face."

Slater grins "Good call."
"Where is Carson? You said you found him." Helen asks
"He's...with his father." Slater says.
Helen swallows "I see..." she frowns "did he leave on good terms with you? Was he angry?"
"Didn't seem it. He did go out of his way to make it seem like he was captured, but likely just because he was embarassed to be leaving with the people we were fighting." Slater explains.
"Good. That will make things easier." she smiles faintly as the door opens on their floor "Come along everyone, there are a few things that Andy needs to be briefed on and well...you deserve to hear as well." she says and pulls out her phone "Excuse me a moment." she dials a number "Hello, it's Helen. I talked to Andrew and he's accepted the job....Yes they are...I'm going to inform him as we speak....yes, I think it's only right they are told too....Well, considering...It's better they are just told flat out by us...I'm glad you agree...And you, goodbye." she hangs up and looks at Slater who was giving her a curious look "When we get to the office." she pats him and leads them to the temporary Director's office.
