Round two!
Name: Llyr Bluestone/ Kalrath Holfinhelm
Age: 21
Race: Demon
Appearance:
Personality: His loyalty to his loved ones and the Crown of Cathitias is unmatched, though this frequently gets him into trouble when it causes him to butt heads with Iago, whom he feels treats Mr. Bluestone poorly. He tries hard to be likeable and optimistic, but is often brought down by the Skycrest family’s attitude toward him. He is quiet and rather stony to most; however he opens up and shows his true self to those he becomes close with. He wants to know his origins more than anything, but hasn’t looked into it in a long time.
Bio: Seven years ago he was found by Mr. Bluestone a few miles away from where Sardoth and Aldric are sealed away. When he was found, he tried to fight back and get to his goal but wasn’t strong enough to defeat, or even get away from Mr. Bluestone. Instead of killing him, or sealing him away like so many other members of his family had been, Mr. Bluestone took all his memories and sealed them tightly away within his mind. When he awoke from the effects of the spell, the only memory that remained was one that wasn’t even his; the residual memory of his body’s previous owner’s name, Llyr.
When Mr. Bluestone brought him back to the castle, Vinitia and the other magical leaders decided that this had been a good solution, as killing or sealing away one so young seemed wrong. He was taken in by Mr. Bluestone, and became a court mage. Early on, he often prodded for details about how he had been found, and constantly tried to think of what his origins were, often looking to Mr. Bluestone for help, but never receiving it. After a time, he stopped asking for help and kept to simply wondering. He constantly feels a pull, calling him towards his father and grandfather. This pull and the fact that he was found in the direction of it have lead him to believe some of his answers lie there, but he has never investigated because of the strict restrictions on the area and having been forbidden to go there.
He doesn’t particularly like the Skycrest family, entirely because they all seem to hate him. The only one he likes is Vodiel, who also happens to be his best friend, and the only one who doesn’t hate him. He has asked his friend on multiple occasions what his family’s problem is, and the only answer Vodiel can give him is that they don’t trust anything mysterious to come from that area.
Powers: He is talented with several types of magic, but favors using lightning. The glasses he wears aren’t for his vision. They are enchanted to help him locate and identify magical auras from spells and objects.
Name: Prince Rhisiart Aetos Palnarvai (Dracwall)
Age: 18
Race: Demon/ Sorcerer
Appearance:
Personality: He is friendly and respectful to those who deserve it. He would gladly go out of his way to help any of the citizens of Cathitias with any problem they have. Though he is rather soft spoken, he speaks with authority and has a natural presence that commands respect (this is likely due to the aura having the mysticslaying power gives off) Citizens who have met him, describe being in his presence as surreal, and that his very words seem like the spells he is so talented in. He finds such compliments slightly embarrassing, in part because they are true.
Bio: He is the Prince of Cathitias and twin brother of its Princess Vanora. When he was eight, he and a few friends tried to sneak over the Wall. They succeeded in getting over it, but argued over which way to go outside the opening long enough to be noticed by the guards and were immediately brought back to the castle. He didn’t try to sneak out again, but promised that he would lead an expedition to the other side someday. He has a small fascination with the land on the other side of the Wall, and feels he has only had a taste of what it has to offer him.
About a year after his attempt to cross the Wall, Rhisiart had a surge in his magical power. He had known how to use simple magic, and was being tutored by several of the mages his parents knew. The change was noticed in a practice dual, in which he moved to block an oncoming attack, but instead dispelled it. Vinitia recognized the aura of the magic he had used, and sent Vito to find Rowan. Rhisiart knows him as Master Rowan, his teacher, and has trained under him ever since his arrival in Cathitias. Over the years he has become quite talented with his gift, and is known by his people as the Sage Prince. He finds this mildly embarrassing, and thinks it’s a bit of an overstatement of his power.
Powers: He has been trained by Drystan in how to use a lance, and by Rowan in swordplay and magic, which he tends to fuse. His main power is the ability to break apart magic, known by most as mysticslaying. While he is not yet as powerful as Rowan had been with it, he has shown signs that he will be even more powerful than his brother had been, because already he can do things Rowan was never capable of. Most notable is to absorb and repurpose the magic he breaks apart.
Name: King Adirnis Feywald
Age: 510
Race: Elf
Appearance:
Personality: He is noble and carries the grace you’d expect an elf King to have. He values tradition and preserving the elven way of life. He is a loving father, but as a different relationship with each of his daughters. He butts heads with Navu, and believes she lacks the poise the future Elven Queen should have. He is proud of Avalbane, and is happy she takes a truly elven approach to being a warrior unlike Navu. He likes to baby Elvina, and sees her as the embodiment of the elven concept of beauty.
Bio: He is the king of the Elves, and the father of Navu, Avalbane and Elvina. He was born a member of the elven nobility, and became a Prince when he married Nienna. After her ordeal with Laetik, he took charge and took on the responsibilities of ruling the Elven nation so that she could take time to heal. He still is the acting ruler of their nation.
Powers: He is known for his sword skills, and for the plant based magic he uses.
Name: Queen Nienna Feywald
Age: 342
Race: Elf
Appearance:
Personality: She is quiet and rather jumpy, especially around men who are not her husband. She loves her family more than anything, and wishes Navu would come home. She adores children, and hates to see any in pain.
Bio: The Queen of the Elves. She is the technical ruler of the elves, however she lets her husband handle the affairs of ruling due to her state of mind. Since she was taken advantage of by Laetik she has had a fear of men other than her husband. She has ensured that all of her personal guards are women, and has tried to arrange the same for her daughters. Her ordeal with Laetik resulted in her giving birth to a son. When they learned that she was pregnant, Adirnis had wanted their healers to create something to prevent the birth, however she could bare the idea of punishing the child for its father’s actions, after all it was hers too. Adirnis accepted this, under the condition that the child be sent away and raised by an adopted family, and the child be considered banished from the Elven kingdom. Nienna accepted this condition, though she constantly wonders if the child is alright.
Powers: She has the ability to summon animals to fight for her. these animals can be ordinary creatures, or those touched by magic.
Name: Laetik Redwind
Age: 384
Race: Elf
Appearance:
Personality: He is patient and observant. He outwardly appears to be a very level-headed man with a cool temper and a respect for authority crafted from years of military service. This is mostly true of him, besides his obsession with the Elf Queen Nienna. He is madly in love with her and hates the elf King. He would never harm Nienna and everything he does he truly believes is in her best interest. A sure way to make him lose his cool is to mention the Elf King. Though he is calm and sensible most of the time, he has learned some things must be taken by force. This ideal has only been reinforced by his time with Tevram. He has no prejudice against dark elves, and has found he likes many of them more than his own people.
Bio: He was once Queen Nienna’s personal guard. While in service to her, he fell madly in love with her and grew to resent her husband. He felt that the King was too old for her and was using her to gain power, though any proof of this has yet to be seen. During the war against Tevram, he began to support his so called enemy, until eventually he went to Tevram in secret and offered his services. He was able to provide information that aided in an attack they had planned in order to free slaves. It just so happened that the location of the attack was a manor that Queen Nienna would be visiting. He convinced Tevram that it would benefit them to capture her as well in this mission, as she is the true ruler of the elves. While the attack was in progress, he led the Queen out and to a place away from everyone, where he told her he was going to rescue her from Adirnis. She refused him, and so he used force. While this was happening, it had been discovered that he had been giving information to Tevram and a man hunt went underway for him. He was tracked down to where he had taken the Queen and barely escaped with the help of Tevram. He was branded a traitor after these events, and chose to stay by Tevram’s side as one of his generals and an advisor. He sympathizes with Tevram’s desire to be with Vinitia, and wishes to help him reunite with her.
Powers: He is an excellent archer, skilled at sniping targets from unnatural distances as well as close combat. The magic he uses is mostly utility spells, meant for enhancing his archery or carrying out day to day activities.
(Note: In the old world he had no tie to Tevram and had been captured and executed shortly after kidnapping the elf Queen. He was brought back in this time to balance Ahlyn’s survival.)
Name: Vae
Age: 21
Race: Dark Elf
Appearance:
Personality: She is a loving and caring person, with the capability of fiercely defending what she holds dear. When she becomes lost in thought, she often seems sad. She is quite mysterious, and doesn’t like being prodded for information about her past.
Bio: A dark elf who recently joined Tevram’s forces. Since she has joined him she has quickly made many friends and is someone everyone seems to like. She is especially popular with the males. When she joined them and was asked about herself, all she said is that she was searching for her father and older brother, and that she had hoped they would be with Tevram. She said she had not seen them, but would like to continue her search while helping them in the war. Her impressive span of knowledge, and her fighting skill made her fit right in with the rest of Tevram’s community.
Powers: She is agile and is capable of surprising acrobatic maneuvers. She applies all of this to her combat with her spear. She has the ability to make her allies stronger, giving them boosts of power no matter what they fight with. She can also hinder her enemies with similar effects. Both of these powers are auras she can radiate. Another power she has is that she can place wards on areas, baring specific people, or type of people from passing them.
Name: Zorak Serpentfist
Age: 34
Race: Gelgath
Appearance:
Personality: He is a proud supporter of tough love, but would never take it farther than someone can handle. He loves a good laugh and a good meal is a quick way to his heart; an even quicker way is a good drink. He is fearless, and would never leave a friend behind. He supports the rebels in their fight for freedom, and would help slaves escape if any came is way.
Bio: He is another member of the bandit crew Dred is in. When he was little, slavers raided his home and captured or killed everyone there. He was captured, but managed to escape by fighting his way out. Instead of returning to another Gelgath city, he chose to wander, having lost faith in his king for what happened to his home. He came across a traveling monk and followed him home to his order and trained in hand to hand combat. After finishing with them, he traveled again before finally join up with the bandit crew Dred was a member of. His last name was granted to him by the others in the bandit crew (much like they named Dred). It comes from his fighting style, which his comrades will say reminds them of Cobra strikes.
Powers: He can hypnotize people and creatures using the bells on his tail. His training with the monks taught him how to make his body nearly invulnerable to attacks, the elements etc. He knows many poisons and will often apply them to his claws, another fact that led to his last name, as well as has built up immunity to several. He is very spiritually connected as well, and has been working on developing powers tied to this.
Name: Leon Farshield
Age: 64
Race: Sorcerer
Appearance:
Personality: He is dedicated to his duty, to the point where it tends to consume too much of his life. It is very difficult to get him to take a break, and he is known to go without sleep for days if he is working on a mission. If something disrupting to a mission happens (such as a casualty or any other emotional event) he is the first to act as if nothing happened and keep everyone on track, leading many to think he’s somewhat heartless. This is all due to his deep loyalty and genuine care for the people he protects, and his fear of failing them.
Bio: His family has served as protectors for the royal family for generations. Prior to his disappearance, he was Urom’s guard. He cared for his charge as if he were a younger brother and served not only as a guard, but a mentor for the young Prince. The day Urom disappeared he had been riding alongside the carriage keeping an eye out as he normally would. When the bandits attacked, he kept Urom close to him to defend him; however he realized that Cordelia and Vayne were in danger as their guards were having a harder time fending off the attackers. He hid Urom by the roadside, drawing a protective circle around him and telling him not to move from it. Confident the Prince would be safe he rushed to the side of Cordelia and Vayne, arriving around the time Vayne had stepped in to protect his mother. He helped fend off the bandits until they chose to flee, and then quickly left to retrieve Urom. When he arrived at the spot where he had hidden him, he found his circle broken and the Prince missing. Those who were there saw something in him for the first time that he had never shown before; he seemed to break internally. He began to feverishly search for the Prince, or any sign to where he had gone, growing more and more desperate as he found no traces of him. Eventually as more royal guards and investigators arrived he had to be ordered to return to the castle and try to calm down. He remained in the service of the royal family as an additional guard as he is needed, however he has taken it as his responsibility to find and rescue Prince Urom, and it has taken its toll on him. He has a hard time looking Cordelia in the eyes out of shame and guilt for failing to protect her son.
Powers: He can channel magic into objects, allowing him to store spells within them for further use. He can cast several varieties of spells in this way however, he has a hard time casting spells without doing this.
(Note: In the old world, he had died buying time for Dagren and Co. to escape the castle. His survival was countered by Urom’s disappearance still occurring.)
Name: Halfrek Vecintus
Age: 11
Race: Sorcerer
Appearance:
Personality: A gentle and kind child, she quick to defend those who are being mistreated. She is known within the castle slaves to sneak down to their barracks and bring them snacks, medicine for those who need it, or even just a book that she will read aloud to them. She loves reading books and has a particular fondness for adventure romance novels.
Bio: She is the youngest daughter of Dagren and Cordelia. She is still very much a child, and has lived a life relatively unaffected by the war with Tevram. She was only 1 when her brother Urom disappeared, so she has really never known him, or known what her family was like before he disappeared. She has managed to bring some level of comfort to her parents by insisting that he’s likely off on some adventure like the heroes in her stories.
She has in her possession a small heart-shaped charm she found while reading in the royal library. She had been reading a story and had come to a part where the hero had come across a riddle that he was unable to solve. She thought about the riddle for a moment and was able to solve it. As she came to the answer, the charm appeared between the pages of the book. Upon picking it up, the heart spoke to her, telling her things about the library. She experimented further with it and found that it would tell her things about places or people she directed it at, sometimes in a rather cryptic way. She keeps the heart on her at all times, and has told no one about it, out of fear she might not be allowed to keep it.
Powers: She is still learning magic, and has yet to choose exactly what she wants to do with her talents. One spell she has mastered is creating a small balls of light which she uses to read by or help navigate the castle halls at night as she sneaks around.
Name: Queen Sonrala, Oracle of the White Isle
Age: Who keeps track of such trivial things? Age is for those who fear death.
Race: Demon
Appearance:
Personality: Eerily sweet and gentle. Her followers are loyal to her due to genuine care and worship. She ensures the good care of all her devout followers, and deals punishment in guilt and humiliation depending on the severity of the crime. Her words can inspire great feats from her people, and strike fear into her enemies. She does not tolerate disloyalty, and enjoys watching her loyal subjects tear traitors apart in her name. Unlike many demons, she views slavery as a punishment, not a resource.
Bio: She is the Queen of a small island nation of primarily demons called the White Isle. Though her nation is mostly demons, it is also inhabited by a small population of other races who found happiness under her rule. She rose to power when she was young with the help of some of her early followers. At the time she had been a commoner, and the Isle was ruled by another demon whose name has been lost to time (partially due to her having it removed from their records and replaced with ‘The Blinded One’). She won the hearts of her people through her kind rule, and willingness to promote those with power; a stark contrast to her predecessor. She deterred uprisings by foreseeing them and confronting those who would be responsible. Over time, her people realized her power and the attempts to overthrow her ceased. They now look upon her with adoration, as their beautiful and powerful Queen. She is not married and has never had a lover. This is because she is saving herself for someone she has prophesized will come, someone she refers to as the High King. Her servants are very suspicious of outsiders, and anyone who wishes to see her must first talk to them, and they will decide if she needs to meet with them personally or if the information can be passed on through them. She is not yet allied with Durmalga and the other demons, but she has foreseen that they will come to her soon, seeking to form an alliance.
Powers: She often has prophetic visions, and is a talented seer. She uses her talents for various purposes, including predicting the various aspects of her country like the economy and crop growth. She also uses them to see what goes on in the world outside her Island. The devotion she has instilled in her people with words alone rivals those who must use magic to form such loyalty. She does not like combat, but should she need to fight, she has a repertoire of demonic spells at her disposal.
