Final Fantasy RP

kk so, aura and I have had this idea for a FF RP for a while. It's not based on any actual FF, but it resembles FFVII. in fact we had wanted a FFVII RP but we realised FFVII had such a complex plot there was no way to have a good new plot line so...we said "Hey! let's make out own world!"

we've got a lot of details of the world figured out, so it shouldn't be too hard for anyone, even those who, god forbid, have never played FF, to join. I've been thinking of using this idea for a manga, and using some of the stuff in an RP if we do one, in the plot. I just wanna' know if people are interested. If you are, I can post more of the details.

My only Q is.....can I have a blue Chocobo, and or a gunblade, ....oh and also, can We be members of SOLDIER? Otherwise I'm interested.

Gunblade: absolutely
SOLDIER: sorta'. like said this isn't the world of FFVII, it's similar in that it is the same sort of time period. in the world we made, there is a SOLDIER-like group that works for a company. There are a few differences, but none that should effect any character ideas you have too much.
Blue Chocobo: ehhh....sure.

ok here's a brief summary of the setting. If people are interested I'll post more detailed bios. (WARNING: uber post is about to happen)


There are four major regions on the planet: the northern continent, the southern continent, the Tobi Islands, and Tselk Isles. (see map when I post a link)

Northern Continent: largest by far of the continents, it has a vast series of climates from fertile grasslands to barren wastelands. Largest city is Geno, which is home to the headquarters of Crytec (a company I'll explain bellow)

Southern continent: mostly consumed by forest this continent has only recently been settled. it is home to the Vierra.

Tobi Islands: Discovered by Tobi Von Nachtbaron, an explorer and airship inventor, sponsored by Crytec to explore the islands after a few had been discovered. These islands are tropical and a popular vacation spot, in fact, that is their primary use. The islands are entirely a resort and very few people actually live there. Unbeknownst to the world, they are also the main base of the Nachtbarons. the largest and central island is called Dragoon.

Tselk Isle: pronounced with the “T” by its people. The residents of this island are sort of doing their own thing. They oppose Crytec and have not allowed them to set up any establishments on their island. The people here believe in the legend of the Celestians, and because of this they feel that Crytec’s actions could cause a world wide catastrophe.


all final Fantasy races are acceptable for this so…go wild. Humes are the most common, of course. there is however, one original race: the Celestians.

The Celestians are an ancient race said to be the ancestors of humes on the planet. in current times, most people haven’t heard of them, mainly scholars. they are now viewed as myth by the people of the planet.

in reality, they are a powerful race of beings that are, for lack of a better term gods. they live on a different plane than where the planets are.(almost like an alternate universe that only has one planet, where this universe can be viewed). From this world, they create planets, and therefore, life. the Celestians are a perfect society. They cannot be evil as long as they have their powers. (there is a lot more about them, specifically their society and powers. like said I'll post bios later.)


The magic power source on this world are crystals, which act like materia do (each one has a certain power that is gives to its user.) There are several large crystal ‘towers’ scattered about the planet’s surface, most large cities are built around a crystal. the areas around a crystal are usually very fertile and full of life. the large crystals sometimes break off little crystals which are what people use. naturally, bigger crystals are supposed to be more powerful, however….


some major organizations/groups on the planet:

CryTec: crystal synthesizing organization. they have developed a way to compress crystals into smaller sizes so that more powerful crystals are easier to carry. aside for that they do other research, but most is crystal related. they have their own fighting force. within that force is an elite group of fighters called the Elete(spelled wrong on purpose mind you) they are a small group and CryTec’s highest ranking officers.
they are widely accepted as good by a majority of people.

The Nacht(Night) Barons: that small percentage of people who disagree with Crytec and have decided to fight back. They were once a Crytec organization but they branched off years ago peacefully. They are known for having a powerful airship fleet. Crytec has been trying to find their base of operations for years but has been unsuccessful.

and yes, the Elete are the SOLDIER-like group. they're more like the Tsviets from FFVII:DOC though if I think about it...or like the SOLDIER 1st classes. People know their names
