On the Continent Rettiar, there are three species: the beorc(humans) the laguz, and the branded
the laguz are made up of several sub-species that are dived into beast, bird and dragon. laguz have the general appearance of humans, only they have additional animal traits (depending on their tribe). they do ont fight with weapons, but can transform into large versions of the animal their tribe is named after.
the branded are people who have a parent of both species. they cannot transform into their laguz parent's animal, and have a birthmark that labels them as branded (is usually reletively small and easy to hide unless it's somewhere painfully obvious)though they can become any beorc class, branded are also capable of being Freelancers. the laguz parent of a branded also loses their ability to formshift. the branded are suposed to be few in numbers.
The continent is divided into 9 countries( each modled to follow one of the traditional FE archetypes *cheesy wink and smile*):

Main country/Good country: Galiere
Capitol : Ferresis
Supporting/Ally to Good Country: Alba
Capitol : Abyga
Religious Country: Isolion
Capitol : Lucevus
Evil Country: Maltorin
Capitol : Sibonius
Neutral/ Trading Country : Sadsgow
Capitol : Escea
LAGUZ!!!!!!!!!!! countries...
Beast: T ' Arin
Capitol : Ugion
Bird: Avius
Capitol : Agini
Dragon: Ts ' vien
Capitol : Xanunur
Wolf: Owgron
Capitol : Zeelucia

in each of the countries lies a piece of the Fire Emblem, a device capable of releasing the evil God/demon of Chaos (name to be determined by outerlimits *yaaay*) if all nine pieces are put together they form a key to the seal that holds him. each individual piece can unlock a follower to the chaos god from back when he wa sealed away
**note, a more detailed description of the four Gods will be given in their own little topic. but here's the speed version ^^
there are four Gods people worship: the Godess of Order, the God/demon of Chaos, the God of the Afterlife, and the Godess of the Mortal world. Chaos got over excited hundreds of years ago so the other three Gods, rallied some mortal troops took him out and sealed him away, trusting the mortals to prtect the fire emblem pieces.
a map will be posted sometime in the near future.
