The Diary.
By Agron
5/4/81 12:00 pm Isabella’s diary Well we just moved in the house, it’s huge but something doesn’t feel right about this house. Maybe, since it’s a new house I’m not use to it. Maybe in a few days I might get use to it but right now it’s a….creepy place. It’s dark inside here my dad said the dark is best because he doesn’t want us to go outside so he wants it dark in here. He says there is safety inside the house out there he wouldn’t know where we are. I’m actually kind of afraid of him at times.
5\5\81 12:00 am Isabella’s diary Something just scratched my window. I don’t know what. I think I might be hearing things. I had the oddest dream…I can’t really remember much, but someone was crying .It was so strange. Oh now I remember, it was a woman, and she was wearing…a small night gown…one that was too small on her. I wonder why she wore it. It didn’t cover any of her…parts. Oh well, I’m going back to sleep.
5\5\81 5:21 am Isabella’s diary Something scratched my window again. This time I know I didn’t imagine it. One of my dolls actually fell. Maybe it was a bird. Though I doubt it. Not too many birds round here. Anyways….I had that same dream again, except this time I was able to call out to her. The woman looked like she reacted, but then that noise woke me up. It’s actually quite annoying. Anyways, I should get back to sleeping.
5\5\81 Isabella’s Diary I really don’t know what time it is. That banging on my window is getting worse. It’s very annoying. I’ll tell the Count. He’ll do something about it. Anyway, I should get dressed.
5\5\81 9:43 am Isabella’s diary The Count told me I was being foolish. He said that I don’t need to ask such foolish things. I wish he wouldn’t say I was foolish. Mom just sat there at breakfast. She didn’t even try to defend me. I can’t stand when he does that stuff. But he is my father so there is not much I can do.
5\5\81 8:14 pm Isabella’s diary Something is wrong with here. As I wandered the house today, I felt odd. I felt like someone was following me, no, not following me. More like watching me. I felt so awkward…especially when I was in the shower. (The worst place someone could see me.) I don’t know, I’m worried I think.
5\5\81 9:15 pm Isabella’s diary I heard someone crying in the hall. When I went to check who it was, I found no one. Only a cold spot. I was sort of scared and I don’t know why. But I had that strange dream again. This time the woman turned to me and I think that’s why I woke up. Her face was in pain. She had blood pouring from her mouth and her eyes had deep purple marks under them. She opened her mouth, and it looked like she was going to say something but then I was woken up by another strike to my room window. I was right about the night gown; it didn’t cover an inch of her privates. However, I feel like I have seen her before, elsewhere besides my dream.
5\6\81 1:46 am Isabella’s diary I’m actually becoming very afraid. Someone just screamed in the house, and it sounded like the woman from my dreams. Am I the only one who hears it? The Count has not co me in check on me, neither has mother. Where are they? Something just hit my window, I’m not imagining anything. The whole window pane shook. Someone’s at my door, they’re clawing at my door. Where is the Count? Where is my Mother? The scratching has stopped…what was out there?
5\6\81 2:34 am Isabella’s diary The scratching has begun again, what is going on. I can hear the woman from my dreams crying. Why can I hear her? I am wide awake, why is this happening to me. I never did anything wrong. Where is mother…where’s…..daddy. Something just hit my window again; I think I heard the glass crack. The woman is crying harder now. The scratching at my door has become pounding. I think I heard something beginning to splinter, please god, not the door. The woman is crying louder than ever… oh god, please help me. The glass in my room just made a loud crunching sound. I’m going to hide in my closet.
5\6\81 2:54 am Isabella’s diary I’m in the closet; the pounding on my door has become even more violent. The woman is still crying, but now I can hear her growling. Maybe I should go out and see what they want…or maybe I’ll stay right here. The window, the window just shattered. Something has just jumped into my room. I can hear it walking in my room. My door has just been crushed in, I heard the wood splinter. The woman is crying harder if that is possible. How can mother and daddy not hear any of this? Daddy should have already come and saved me, Where is he? Mommy told me monsters don’t exist. But then what are these things. No….they are pounding on the closet door. Mommy where are you? I need you. Where did you go? The evil woman is still crying, louder still…..the door is cracking. Oh my god, please I don’t want to die. Someone needs to rescue me. They’ll catch me if I try to run. That woman will catch me, and then I’ll be dead. I know that’s the truth. I don’t know how I know, but I do. The door has splintered some more. Daddy, Mommy….I love you so much, please take care of each other. I will always love you and I will always

The Howl
By: Agron...lol
I told him it was cursed. He wouldn’t listen, and now he is gone. I fear I am going to be next. That stone was cursed. I told him so many times that we should have left, but he would not listen to a word of it. What we found inside his oddly colored clothing, was horrible, mostly water. We don’t want to think about what was actually in that liquid horror. His journal…that horrible thing. I’ve only read it once; I burned it immediately after I reading. NO person should ever have to see those words ever again, or know the horrors that Malcolm had committed to obtain that horror of a stone. I first met Malcolm in Egypt; on the dunes. He was a large man, Black hair, Tanned skin. His eyes however, were a strange shade of blue. Always alert and up for a laugh, he and I become good friends. I was always taken in by his stories of his travels into the dark Amazonian jungles and of his expeditions into the Himalayan Mountains. Always the hero and boaster, his stories would always end with an epic escape from wild natives, or a brush with freezing to death in the mountains. He once even went as far as to say that he saw the “Monster of those damn mountains. He was eight feet tall if he was an inch.” I laughed hard when he told me that story. However, now that he is gone, I’ve begun thinking that maybe his stories are not lies at all. Thinking back over those last few days with Malcolm, I believe that all his stories may have been true. I like to believe that I’m safe from whatever Malcolm and I released in Egypt. We were so stupid…if only we had taken that old man’s words seriously, then Malcolm and I would still be alive and neither one of us would be cursed. “ Curses are not real my boy” he told me “They are just some mumbo jumbo thought up by some stupid natives. If I believed half the crap in those tombs I’ve raided, then I would be dead six times over by now.” Again I laughed at that and I believed him. Stupid fools we were. Our problems began when we got past all the temples security and traps. We lost six good men entering the inner tomb. I was scared for my life, however the entire time; Malcolm was completely and utterly calm. He never batted an eye, even when our workers were killed. He merely said “Death is inevitable, why be afraid? Better to look death right in the face and walk hand in hand with him instead of trying to run all your life.” I was slightly disturbed when he said that. They had been our fellow comrades, they helped us, gain entry to that tomb and he cast them off like they were vermin. I should of realized then that he would go to any lengths to obtain what he wanted. Nothing would slow him down, nothing and no one. He cared simply for the treasure and the glory, everyone else was expendable to him. I wanted to believe that excluded me, but I don’t think it did. His way was always the only way, he was always right, no matter what the evidence showed. He got five men killed at once when he failed to open a door at the correct time. Their bodies were not recognizable “They knew what they got themselves into, anyways, more for us.” He had said with a smile. He was smiling the last time I saw him as well. That fool, caused us all to be doomed. When we entered that last room, there was a picture of a large Anubis warrior, the creature stood with its eyes glowing a beautiful color of blue. Never would I imagine such a color could be evil. We used explosives to open the emperors’ tomb. Our biggest and final mistake, Malcolm and I entered first. We lit lanterns and began searching the room. It was a beautiful gold covered room. However nothing would prepare us for that horrible rock. Nothing would ever prepare us for the evil world that Malcolm had dragged us into. The stone was a large black stone made of what we thought was Obsidian. It was magnificent; words really will not give it justice. It was laid upon the Sarcophagus of the pharaoh. Malcolm grabbed it and was transfixed by its beauty. A few moments after Malcolm touched the stone, we heard a wolf howl. We all jumped as the howl echoed far too many times. “Egyptian wolves now that would be a find.” Malcolm had said. He had glanced at me when he had spoken. He had been afraid. He and I left Egypt two days later, unknowingly; I had brought the stone with me. I had sown the seeds of our destruction. When we landed in Crete we saw a Newspaper that had an article on a Mass murderer. The killer had apparently killed twenty people in Cairo, Egypt. “The bodies of twenty workers were found today, on the dunes outside the city of Cairo. Their bodies were stripped naked and then each one was beheaded. Their heads in question have yet to be found.” We stared at the newspaper for a long time before either one of us said a word. “Malcolm, those were our” “Don’t say it victor” Malcolm had pleaded. I dropped the subject, for it was bothering me a great deal as much as it was him. That night was the first time I heard the howling. The howling I had heard in the tomb. I looked over at my friend as he sat in an armchair. His eyes were as wide as I had ever seen them. “Malcolm….what was that, was that.” I began “Of course not you fool. It’s just a coincidence.” He had pulled out the stone as he spoke. “Where did you get that?” I asked him. “From your bag, my friend.” He said “I was going to ask why you had it.” “I must put it in there by mistake.” “Yes of course.” He said with a smile. The howl came again and we both jumped. The actual howl sounded closer, more so directed towards us. I wish I had been the first to go, because now I’m the one waiting for the creature to come. I’m the one who knows about the death that is coming. The day of Malcolm’s disappearance, it was a day like any other, besides the increased howling of that wolf. We decided to go our separate ways, I was going to go to America and he wanted to go back to London. The wolf howled again, this time it was a long drawn out howl. I left early for the airport; the sun was not even up. As I walked to the car that was waiting for me, I glanced back at Malcolm’s home. At once my eyes were brought to a pair of beautiful blue dots twinkling in one of the upper windows. I smiled and got into the car. The driver immediately began driving towards the airport. Suddenly, it hit me. The howling, the blue lights. The creature from the painting in the tomb. The monster was here to take the stone back. I told the driver to around. We sped back to the house. When we arrived, I ran to the door and opened it. I only had to search as far as the stairs. That’s where I found the heap of clothing and liquid. The stone was gone and so was my friends body. I took a match and turned the gas oven on. I lit a match and threw it into the house. The entire building was set ablaze and I have been on the run ever since. Its been days....but the howling still chases me. The creature hunts me....but I will not give it satisfaction. I have my revolver, and as I place it in my mouth I can see those damn blue eyes glaring through the dark. But it shall not have me...I will not be one.

She was someone I needed to protect, and I failed. Those damn things…..If we had only known what we were getting ourselves into. So many of us died escaping that hell on earth. The unholy things we saw in that facility and in that neighboring village. It’s by gods own will that I am still…..well not wholly okay, but I am alive. Her eyes, green ….they’ll forever be seared into my mind. The operation started like any other. After the incident in both Zet City and the Virial System City Capital of Anton, I was transferred from Alpha squad Frontline to Alpha Squads training facility back on earth. I was given special training and then reassigned to the actual squad. It’s been five months since I was reassigned to the team, there were eight of us then. The idiots made me feel right at home. I was made the team commander and everything was great. The squad consisted of four rifle men, Jon ”Metal” Simpson, Manuel “Jester” Lebron, Sam “Ogre” Woodard, and Tom “Brodt” Warmbrodt, a Point man named Anthony “Anth” Wright, a Medical Officer named Anna “Jumper” Dow, and the teams explosives expert Adam “Net” Wade. We also had...….shadows; agents who went in ahead of our squad and sent back Intel. It was them, who are responsible for all our problems. As of yet I have only been able to find three of them, but this last one shouldn’t be too hard to find. The operation was supposed to be a simple setup. Headquarters had lost contact with a very important lab facility on planet Hespa. This lab, according to the government,(and accepted by the populace) did not exist. HQ had lost contact with the labs about two weeks before we were sent in. About the same time that contact with the labs was lost, the nearby city of Ravenholm went silent as well. My old unit, Delta squad Frontline, had been sent in before we were. After arriving at Ravenholm, HQ had lost contact with Delta squad. Their first and only message had been a static rendered, panic stricken SOS. “HQ! Come in! We need immediate backup!! Shit FIRE! FIRE! FIRE! Damn it! There’s no end to them. Haynes WHAT are YOU Doing!! KEEP sh……..don……No!!!! Keep shooting at them! HQ We ne….backu…!! NO wait FUCkin…..monster!!! NO!!! no NOOOOOOO!!!!” The line went dead and there had been no further contact with any member of Delta since then.
Chapter 1: THE MISSION “Your primary mission objective is to gain access to the Hespian Facility and find out what happened. Dr. Davis….she is the chief medical scientist, we need her. You are to find her and bring her back safely to the evac zone.” Captain Tietz said to us before we boarded the gunship. “Sir what about Delta?” I asked him. “Son I’m not going to sugarcoat it. From the sound of that SOS, they got hit hard by something. Just watch your ass and make sure that this squad accomplishes its goal. I know they were your old unit, but don’t let personal feelings take hold, or I’ll cut you from this mission. You are only to look for Delta, if and only if you find evidence that they might still be alive.” The captain said to me. “Aye sir.” I said. “You’ll be landing in Ravenholm.” I looked up at him. He took a step towards me and placed his hand on my shoulder. “Bring our boys home Agron,….or at the very least bring in their Dog tags.” I looked into his face. He was a hardened old man, years of service had made him into the man he was. “Aye sir.” I turned my back on him and closed the gunship door. I strapped myself in and laid my head back against the hull. I gripped my rifle and squeezed the handle as hard as I could. “You okay Agron?” Metal asked me. “I’m fine, just anxious.” I lied. “Stay focused guys. Delta’s going to need us. We’ll find the Doctor and get her the hell out. Keep sharp, we’ll be there in a few minutes. We’re getting dropped into Ravenholm. Secure the area when we land. No surprises…no jokes, take this one seriously.” I yelled over the roar of the engines. “Yes sir!” My squad yelled back. I closed my eyes and I prayed to god that this mission wouldn’t be a repeat of Zet. I prayed to god……
Chapter 2: Present Day I know he’s here, his guards had shown me that much. He’s here and he will not escape me again. Hmmmm…..thump thump thump thump, I hear them now….I can see them…. ……they’re all dead.
Chapter 3: The Mission The gunship touched down and Metal opened the door. Jester and Ogre jumped out, followed by myself and Anth. The rest of the squad jumped out and took defensive positions around the ship. “I’ll be back in 48 hours. I’ll check in every three hours via the radio.” Our pilot Petty Officer Mctigue said. “Thought you were supposed to stay and give us coverage.” Anth said. “Sorry, I was told to drop your team off and then fall back towards the evac zone.” She explained. “That’s fine, let’s find out where our specters are and get this job done.” I said. “Our destination is rally point 6.54. That’s where Delta’s last transmission came from. Activate your scouter’s huds and stay within sight of each other. Jester, Ogre, take the rear, Anth, Metal, take the front. Jumper, Brodt, Net, stay in the middle. Move out!” I ordered them. Behind us the gunship lifted off and began to rise quickly. A moment later, it was gone. “Next check in 2 hours 56 minutes. Good luck Alpha Squad.” Mctigue said over the radio. “Alright team, let’s get going.” I said. We began moving through the city. It was too eerie, no life , no bodies….not even animals. We searched a few buildings, but found nothing. There was lots of blood however, and it was everywhere, the streets were covered in it, as were the buildings we searched. Every room we entered looked like a tiny explosion had occurred in them. In the second block of buildings we entered, we entered a huge home. This one looked like the rest, blood and destruction, however Metal pointed something out. “Hey….L.T., look, think they’re bullet holes.” He was right, the whole hallway was filled with rounds. I raised my rifle and slowly walked towards the only closed door on the floor. As I reached the door, I realized how cold I felt. I could see my breath….suddenly I heard a strange sound. Like a gurgling noise. “Metal, back me up.” I said quietly. He silently walked towards me. I placed my hand on the door knob and suddenly the noise turned into a low growl. Ogre raised his rifle to the door. I lifted three of my fingers and slowly lowered them one by one. When I lowered my last finger we rushed the door. Metal kicked the door in and Ogre and I pushed through. We stopped dead in our tracks. I lowered my rifle and turned away. Jumper came in from the hallway, saw the contents of the room, and threw up. “Christ…what the hell...” Ogre said. Hanging from the ceiling of the room was the rotting carcass of what possibly was a human being. The body was stabbed on a massive hook and hung from the ceiling. At once something shinny caught my attention. I unsheathed my knife and threw it at the rope holding the thing up. The blade easily cut through the blood soaked rope and the corpse fell. I picked my blade up and sheathed it again and walked to the body. I kneeled next to its head and removed the beaded chain from around its neck. I held the chain in my hand and I read the inscription on the tag. “Christopher Lockett” “October 30, 2321” “Noveria, Tet City” I sat there in disbelief. Chris had always been the one person I thought we would find alive. Metal walked up to me and placed his hand on my shoulder. “Who is it?” He asked. “Chris….” I said. The window shattered next to us and I felt myself hit the wall. Jumper screamed and I heard Net shout out in pain. My eyes opened and I swallowed a scream. A creature stood atop Chris’s body. Describing it, would be beyond my mental capacity. Allow me however, to say that this creature stood upright and had a skeletal feature resembling that of an insect. Their bodies had appendages like that of a scorpion. It was in one of these that Net’s arm was caught. It was Zet all over again. Twice I’ve faced them, twice I’ve killed them all, and twice I’ve lost it all. The name given to these creatures were Famine. Without hesitation I opened fire onto the creature. The Famine jumped onto the ceiling (dragging Net with it) and roared. Net screamed and dropped his rifle. Ogre ran at the beast and slid onto his knees and slid underneath the creature and opened fire. Metal shot at the monster with his shotgun. The creature threw itself towards the doorway and Jumper. She screamed as the creature slammed her through a doorway. “Make sure she’s okay!” I yelled at jester as I ran after the creature. Ogre was right behind me as we raced after the monster and Net. I jumped from the top of the stairs and rolled onto my feet. The creature turned and threw a chair at me. I ducked and shot the creature square in the head. The monster shrugged the round off and jumped towards the door. The creature slammed itself through the door and I realized this would be Nets last moments of life. I reached the door and steadied my rifle. The Famine roared with what could only be delight as it stretched out its wings. “NET!!!!” I screamed. Net said nothing back; he only stared at me and smiled at me. He knew what I was going to do, and he wanted it done. I fired at Net, and my round struck him in the face. At once the monster threw his body to the ground and charged me. I smiled and changed the clip in my rifle. I slapped a clip of shredder rounds into my gun and I ran out onto the street to meet the monster. The monster swung a massive black scaled claw at me and I ducked under it. Ogre appeared at the door and opened fire on the creature. His rounds cut one of the creatures wings clean off and it roared in pain. I sprinted at the creature and jumped onto its back. The Famine roared again and I answered its roar with one of my own. A beautiful roar that can only be made by a M4S8 assault rifle being fired into the base of a Famine’s skull. The eight foot tall creature swayed as my rounds severed its head from its body. The monsters head hit the ground with a sickening thud. I kicked off the creatures back and landed on my feet, next to Net’s body. A second later, the entire team came out of the house. “Net…oh my god..no. Jumper said quietly. “We need to get the hell out of here, now.” I said. “More are going to be coming. We need to leave!” “More?!” Metal said. “Yes, we need to leave!” “Let’s get the hell out then. We’ll get the good doctor and then get the hell out.” Ogre said. I grabbed Nets dog tags from around his neck and began running towards rally point 6.54.
Chapter4: THE LAB ENTRANCE We somehow made it to rally point 6.54 unopposed. The Famine were nowhere to be seen. The last time I fought them they attacked us relentlessly, and every time we lost someone. Our shadows were nowhere to be seen, I thought they were dead, they weren’t. The actual facility looked like a normal house. I opened the front door slowly and stepped in. The front hall looked clear so I told the rest of the squad to enter. “Ogre, I want u to watch the door. No one comes in. Jester, you’re staying too.” “Aye, sir.” They said together. I walked to the closet specified in the report and opened the door. At once a small camera came out of the wall. “Are you human.” A woman’s voice said. “Yes, we are human.” I said. “What do you want?” “To get you the hell out of here. Can you come to us, or are the Famine there.” I asked her. “They’re everywhere… please get me out. The other people are here but they tried to shoot me. They said that I knew too much and I had to be silenced.” She said. “The shadows…what the hell…” “They released the Famine…they killed the other team, they let the Famine kill everyone in town. There was nothing I could do.” She began crying as she spoke. “Please get me out of here….please, I want to leave. Don’t let those things get me. Please…” “Don’t worry, I’ll get you out.” She sounded so familiar. “Is your name Jenna Davis?” “Yes.” “Nolee…” I said. “Chris?” she said. “I’m going to get you out Jen. Where are you?” “Chris….I’m on level two of the facility, but the Famines nesting ground is on this level. You won’t make it. Chris…” “Hey, has anything ever stopped me before?” I said. “We’ll get you out, even if we have to kill all those bastards. Open the door.” I said. “Thank you.” She whispered. “Dose the ram still work?” “Yes.” “Then I have a plan. Agron out. Don’t die on me.” The door opened and I slowly walked in. The moment I entered, the stench of rotting flesh and decay hit me. I placed my hand over my mouth and continued through. Bodies hung from the ceiling and were littered around the area. I turned on my rifles flashlight and proceeded deeper into the room. I spotted another camera and I wondered if Jen could see us. We continued unopposed as we entered the Ram’s station. “Brodt, Anth get onboard, start it up. Metal, you’re with me. Jump….get onboard as well.” Metal and I secured the area. Not a monster in sight. We entered the Ram and sat down. “How do you know the doctor?” Jumper asked. “We used to be real close. Don’t push the subject.” “Okay, sorry I asked.” She said. I always regretted answering her like that. A moment later, a Famines claw slammed through the Rams solid steel hull. The claw went straight through Jump’s chest. She was dead before she knew what hit her. “NOOOO!!!” I screamed and I rose from my seat. I kicked open the Rams door and threw myself out onto the Rams back cart. The Famine stood there. Its right upper claw dripped some of Bella’s blood onto the train tracks below. This Famine was much bigger, at least 13ft tall. It crouched as it prepared to launch itself at me. I grabbed my shotgun and raised it. The monster dove at me and I rolled towards the left side of the train. Anth had closed the door as the creature approached and the monster slammed into the back of the control cart. I sprinted towards the monster; I slid onto my knees and fired the shotgun from point blank range into the gigantic Famine’s leg. The creature’s ligament snapped and the monster slid sideways off the train. As it slid its arm caught me in the chest and slammed me into the cart. The creature roared in pain as it hit the tracks. The only way to describe it, would be to put a spider in a meat grinder, point being; there was nothing left of the bastard. I tried standing up but it hurt to move. The monster must have broken something. That’s when I saw it. Another Famine, and then another, and another, and another. Jen hadn’t been kidding, they were everywhere. The walls and even the ceiling of the Ram tunnel were filled with Famine. They were newborns, their shells were all white. The big one had been their protector. I tried getting up, but it hurt too much. I backed out.
Chapter 5: THE ESCAPE When I woke up, the pain was still there. “Welcome back.”Anth said. “Shit, where are we?” “Level two, thought you were dead.” “Yeah, well I’m not. Let’s get out of here.” I said. “What about Anna” Anth asked. “We leave her. She will be avenged.” “Understood, sorry kid, they will pay.” Metal said. Slowly I sat up and looked the room over. There was a camera. “We’re still coming, we are on the level. Where exactly are you.” I said to the camera. A small chip slid out of the wall and I grabbed it. I placed it into my headset and a navigational marker appeared on my scouter HUD. She was three rooms away. “Let’s move guys.” I said. I looked back at her body. They had covered her with a white sheet. “Her tags?” I asked. Brodt pulled them out and gave them to me. I placed them on my chain. I limped to the door and slowly opened it. The hallway was clear. I took a step out of the room and then another. A blur of movement caught my eye and I saw a white Famine. My gun rose almost automatically and I fired into the creature. The creature’s soft shell gave way and it collapsed quickly. We heard the hive roar and we began to run. We opened a door and kept running. The nav marker was only 27m’s away. I turned and fired my rifle into another Famine. It too had a white shell and it too fell quickly. I waited for the rest of the squad to arrive and then suddenly the door behind me opened. I felt claws envelop me and I heard Metal yell something. The three of them opened fire and I felt a round hit me in the thigh. The claws let go, and then I felt pain on a level I haven’t experienced since. A claw slammed right through my side. I grabbed the claw and began to tear it out when the monster pulled it out and fell dead. I felt blood pour out of my side and I began to feel lightheaded. I heard someone scream and then I blacked out again. When I awoke again, the pain in my side and everywhere was gone. The moment my eyes opened I felt arms embrace me. “You haven’t changed at all Je…er…Doctor Davis. “ I said with a smile. She hugged me harder and began to cry. “It’s going to be okay. I’m going to get you out no matter what. I promise.”I said. “I know, I do believe…but….the Famine.” “Don’t worry about them. We are going to handle them. Let’s get going.” At that second my radio exploded in static. A voice came through the static. “That bastard is still alive.” A voice said. “Yeah well at least Ogre and Jester………” The rest was static. I’m almost certain that if I had brought them with us, they would still be alive. We never found their bodies. “Davis, take my pistol.” I said. She took it and wiped the tears from her eyes. “Mctigue is late with her contact.” Metal said. “Radio signals can’t get in here.” Davis said. “You sure?” Metal asked. “Yes.” “That means they are here. Sir we can get those bastards. We can make them pay.” Anth said. “No, we leave; the Famine is too thick here. We don’t have the fire power to handle both the famine and the shadows. We leave, and then we get HQ to bomb the hell out of this place. For now we take the Doctor and get the hell out of here. Let’s head back to the Ram. I’ll take the back, Anth, you take lead and Brodt, and Metal protect her with your lives.” They stared at me then they nodded. We slowly moved towards the door, suddenly she grabbed my hand and pulled me towards her. She grabbed the back of my head and pulled my head towards hers. She kissed me deeply, like she did back when we were still together. In that moment, time stood still. She let go and took a step back. “For luck….” She said with a smile. Then she turned and began to walk towards the door. I grabbed her and pulled her to me again and I kissed her again. “For you.” I said against her lips. I let her go and she walked to the door with a smile. “Love you….” I said. She stopped and looked back at me. “I love you too.” She said. She walked away towards the door. I smiled and began to follow. We turned to the hallway that contained the Ram entrance, and stopped suddenly. Standing in the hallway, were three men. The moment they saw us, they raised their guns and opened fire. I grabbed the doctor and threw her to the ground. A round struck my rifle. I threw myself onto the floor and opened fire. I heard Metal yell out in pain as a bullet hit him in the chest. I stood and fired my rifle and hit one of the shadows. The shadow fell. Anth stood and unloaded his gun onto another shadow. He fell as well. The last shadow ran out towards the Ram train. “Metal!” I yelled. I ran over and fell onto my knees. “Shit, get up Metal! We need to leave.” The roar of the Famine hive sounded off and would be only a matter of time before the Famine found us. “I am not going anywhere. I can barley move. Get going, I’ll hold them off L.T. Just give me my grenade; I’ll take…..care of them. Take my tags, and get the hell out of here.” Metal said. I grabbed his tags and stood up. “Let’s get the hell out of here.” I said. “Jon thanks.” We began running; I could hear Metals rifle fire as we ran. I could hear the Famine screeching in the distance, it was their victory roar, a moment later I heard the grenade go off. The whole floor shook as we ran. I slid as we came to the Ram tunnel door. The door opened and another shadow fired at us. Brodt took a round in the leg. Jenn raised my pistol and fired twice she hit the shadow and he fell to the ground. I stood and ran towards the Ram. Anth grabbed Brodt and Jenn was right behind them. I jumped onto the Ram but the shadow member was dead. He had shot himself in the head. I powered on the Ram. It slowly began to roll back up the long tunnel. I turned and stared at Jenn. It had been six years, but she was still the same. Her hair was still down past her shoulders, still that same light brown I had missed so much, her skin was still the same pale white color, however when the moonlight hit her just right, her skin would seem to glow. I missed her so much. At once something felt weird. “Jenn! GET DOWN!!” I screamed. A bullet slammed through the trains’ hull and struck her in the chest. She fell to the floor and I ran over to her. Blood was coming from her mouth and chest. She had tears streaming from her eyes. “No…Jenn, you can’t die….please I can’t lose you again.” I cried. “Anth, help her, do what you have to, save her.” I said. “I’ll do what I can.” He said. I bent down and kissed her. Her blood streamed into my mouth, and tears left my eyes. I turned and kicked the train door open again. I ran out and entered the final conflict.
Chapter 6: THE END So here is where the story ends. At least I hope, this last bastard is going to pay for both of teams. I can see him looking for me, her blood, it’s not normal. She is not normal…I can see …everything is in red right now, and I feel so powerful. I can see the final shadow; he can’t hide from me anymore. What did she do to herself? It doesn’t matter, I love her. I’ll get her out, and then we can be happy. There the fool is. My gun is aimed at his skull, I’m pulling the trigger, and he’s falling to knees. No need to watch, I know he’s dead. I got back to the Ram control cart. “Sir, she’s going to make it! Sir?” Anth said I shot him twice in the chest; I turned and shot Brodt twice in the chest. I turned back to my beloved, she’s sitting up smiling. “You did well my love, now we can be happy. The Famine are gone…except for us of course.” “We’re human Jenn, we are human….we are not Famine.” “We are perfect Famine, my blood…has made us both into perfect Famine, and we cannot be stopped. We are Famine one and all, Famine is perfection. We only need leave this place and begin our new life.” “ we are Famine, one and all. Let us feed on this world. Their blood will make us strong.” I grabbed her and kissed her with all my might. We would be happy for all time. I can finally see why I was made to fight them so many times. It was a test, a test to see if I could be a true Famine. I kissed her again. She is my prize….she is my only reason for existence. Her eyes, green…..they will forever be in my mind. I didn’t fail her, she expected me to succeed. I love her and she loves me…..and we shall be eternal.

Very...interesting High Mage. The writing is quite nice although the stories are pretty short. I notice all are different takes on some sort of horror story. The first one was ok, the diary thing is always interesting. Still, it didn't make much sense. The second story started off pretty good but ended pretty quickly. Yet, it did have more of a solid ending than the first one. I like the third story the most. If it had been longer it probably would be better but it was still pretty nice for a short story. Overall, gj!

Like the first one...though I'd really like it to be more....complete. I didn't really get everything that was happening. I needed like more in the beginning or end to kind of explain. The second was pretty good, rather fond of it. Kinda wish it was longer, cause I could really get into it. Haven't read the third yet because it's long and I'm tired.... oh.... www.fictionpress.com It's a website where you can post original stories once you make an account. Plenty of people read and hang out there, you'd probably get more reviews, constructive criticism and stuff. Just remember...Flames are only good for roasting marshmallows!

Drednaught. Fall into Terminus
The rain splattered my visor as I lay there in the mud. My body ached, and my vision was blurry. I could hear the individual drops of rain hitting the wet mud around me. Mud mixed with my own blood and grime. I could taste copper in my mouth, and the ringing from the explosion was still in my ears. I rolled over as best I could and slowly rose to my knees. As I rose, I could hear the cracks and pops my bones and armor were creating. I could tell something was broken. I couldn't take a full breath in, and when I tried, a sharp pain entered my chest. My Visor was cracked in the bottom left corner, and I couldn't tell how much air, or even shielding I had left. I hefted my rifle off of the ground and stood shakily. Around me, the remnants of the ship. The dropsjip had been shot out of the sky, and had slammed into the ground, before sliding over the cliff edge. I was alive, because of the armor, and I knew it. All my physical enhancments and augmentations did nothing when we were hit, and Sanders, the poor bastard, got sucked out when the ship crashed. His helmet wasn't even on. I doubt he survived the initial hit, but damn him. He knew we were in a potential hot zone. I wanted to get onto the radio, and call for my freinds, but I knew those bastards that had shot us down were still around. Without a established line I'd have to use an open channel. That would draw the enemy to him. I stood up and shuddered at the feeling I was getting from just standing. I wouldn't be getting far. "Green-6, I am detecting massive internal damage. 6? Are you ok?" Amy asked me. For an artificial intelligence, she was very self aware, and overly protective. "I'm fine Amy....just a little shaken up. Increase pressure to any injured areas, and begin the AoM.I gotta try and find the rest of the squad."
"No problem 6, give me a moment." she said. A moment later, I could feel the numbing affects of the meds she was applying to my system. I slung my difle onto my back and then slowly I limped my way towards the wreckage of the dropship. I couldn't move too fast, It still hurt to breath. As I got closer to the flames, I could see the piolots body, in the flames. "Pat," I said sadly. I turned away and raised my rifle at a slight movement behind him. In my sights, two of my men. "Lucian, Marcus," I said lowering my rifle. "Anyone else make it?" Marcus lowered his pistol and holstered it before pointing at his helmet and puting up four fingers, followed by three, followed by a closed fist andthen another three "channel fourty three point three" I said to myself. I changed my com to the designated channel and nodded towards them. "No, Lucian woke me up, what's the plan 6?" his deep voice asked me. Lucian slung his shotgun, and placed to of his fingers against his helmet, then he pointed towards the North-east. I turned and unslung my rifle. We could see a white light scanning a valley. After a moment It began bombarding the area down below with plasma energy. A moment later we heard a panic ridden scream into our radio coms. "We need backup!! Please, anybody, we are under heavy Drednaught fire, please. Lelye's voice shot through my helmet and before I had a plan, before I had any semblence of reason I began running as best I could. "6!!!, what's the plan boss."Marcus yelled as we began running. "Dose he ever have a plan Marc?" Lucian laughed as we ran. "No laughing matter, we got at least two squadmates down there. Activate your cloaking shielding. Lucian, you got any rockets left in your wrist launcher?" "Three and one in the holster....got something do ya?" "Get onto that hill, by the time Marcus and I hit the valley. When I give the mark, you know where to fire.
