ISIS
(Integrated Systems for Information and Security)
Despite traces of humanity, the legendary ISIS--the helm of the Frontier Fleet's flagship, the USS Infinity, ISIS is nothing more than a gigantic wheel.
Despite this, it is pivotal to the existence of all humanity, as ISIS holds ALL the information we have ever obtained, in any form or another. It operates using a form of mataheuristic cloud computing, which, since infromation is accessed only when it is needed, eliminates the need for a hard drive.
It is charged with the task of analyzing planets for potential life while we humans reside here, on this most alien of worlds. It controls the life support and defense systems both on board the ship and in the human settlements, using the same cloud computing method it does to analyze all other infromation.
This method of operation also eliminates the need for a systemic core or base of operations, and as such ISIS is, for better or worse, effectively impossible to shut down. It's primary directives are:
0012: SCAN UNIVERSE FOR PLANETS HABITABLE TO HUMAN BEINGS AND INFORM US OF THEM.
0001: ENSURE THE SURVIVAL OF HUMANITY WHILE ON BOARD THE FRONTIER FLEET OF SHIPS.
It has a brushed metal exterior, with a gigantic, single HAL-9000-like "eye" in the middle, and it is programmed to sound like AUTO, from Disney/Pixar's WALL-E, sine his accent is universal.
