Ashes of Dissent: The Rise of The Roman Catholic Church Time Immemorial Michael Richardson
[poem]
Unto the flames which may stave plague Cast ye merry dissidence Into the places where they lay The bodies of the dead Unto humankind bring this saluted glory Emblazoned into our very souls As what we cannot touch Is soothed by your gentle world
Caress the soul with thy tongue As the ashes do embrace The lungs and air of all who fall To the ambivalence of the stake Behind the very fire Which may well have saved their souls Rest the clergy men who bring down Inquisition on young and old
Let thine soul rest upon the bosom Of the merry, gracious Lord Take unto the heavenly gates My pure and blessed soul Care for me and stave my want Keeping trouble out Unto our keep does not command The heavy hammer of doubt
To they whose minds trouble still To the existence of our lore Can come at any given time That fatal knock upon the door To those who may have lost their way The same fate you shan’t see For a fate even worse than death Is excommunication
Give to the heavens of thou that have smitten you The soul released by the angelic flame Unto the cold, hardened earth Rain my final breaths Down, down, down one goes Into the evanescent Hell Saved no more than by the wishes of An evanescent knell
