The door opens and a young girl answers it. "Uncle Zona?" She looked upset, her eyes were wet.
"Maya, what's going on? Why are you closed?" Zona asks.
"It's Daddy." Maya steps aside.
"Maya, I told you not to answer the....oh my....Zona, it's you." A woman in her 40's says.
"Karen, what's wrong? What happened to Iolas?" Zona steps in. "Umm...Serah, come in."
Karen looks down. "It's terrible. He was asked to heal a nearly duke's son, but the healing magics didn't work. The boy was beyond saving and passed shortly after. The Duke...he was furious. He tool Iolas and..." She bites her lip. "...see for yourself."
Zona steps past her and looks into the room he came from. "No..."
Lying there on a bed was a battered and broken man, who was missing both of his hands.

Serah peers around Zona and gasps a little. "Zona....can you help?" she asks him.

Zona shuts his eyes, tears running out. "I can heal his wounds...but the hands...I'd need a pair of..." He then opens them. "Which Duke is this?"
"Duke Elrik Loras. He lords over this area." Karen says.
"Not for much longer." Zona says with determination as he walks up to his student. He holds out a hand and a white light enshrouds him, healing all but his missing hands. "Serah...I'm going to pay a house call to this scum. You should stay here."

Serah frowns "I want to go with you." she says "I want to help." she says timidly. she glances at Iolas again and clenches a fist. She had never felt this way before, but she had seen others this way enough to know what this emotion was. She was angry.

"Alright, but keep in mind you chose to come." Zona says. "Come along then. I know where this fool lives. We'll teleport there once we step outside."

Serah nods to him and follows. She didn't care about what he planned on doing, she just wanted to be sure he came back, and frankly was afraid to leave his side.

"Serah, don't be scared. I'm not going to let myself do anything to be undeserving of your faith in me." Zona looks down at her. "But this man must be made to pay. He is a real monster with no excuse for his mistreatment of others. You wonder why I can tolerate the others...they may be monsters and more but...they are discarded from society. Hated and shunned...their barbarism...it's what life has made them into....but they are honest about it."
He looks away. "Men like this Baron however...have no just cause. They are part of society and yet people are just toys. they do it solely for fun. Because they have power over others." Zona sighs. "Men like that...are why I joined the demons. I was a victim once myself...no one helped me until I met my Master. And yet...I failed him. Where he protected his student, mine is..."
