"It also goes the other way though. Aries had our long life, but his powers depleted it, aged him more than it did others older than him." Libra says. "He always said eternal life is the greatest curse to befall a person, be them human or orbis." she smiles lightly "that comforts me some, because at least we know he was accepting of death."

"Oh. I guess that makes sense.," says Leo. She leans her head back on her hands and sighs. "You know, I think the better life span isn't living forever or living a human life span. I think it's more the in-between version. Being around long enough to answer the questions you come up with and, you know, make a name for yourself. Course, I bet getting old wouldn't be so bad if you didn't age, you know?"

"I wouldn't want it, even if I stayed youthful." Libra says "I can't imagine the torture of living forever, watching those you love die around you." she says "Sure, you get to watch time unfold, but what is the use if you are alone? No, I wouldn't wish that on my greatest enemy."
-----
"And if they don't let us leave?" Marielle asks
"Then you will stay here." Ophiuchus says casually.
"One prison to another then..." She says with distaste
"You'll find this place far more comfortable." Ophiuchus says "It shouldn't come to that. You're of more use to us down there."
"And how is that?" Marielle asks, still not looking happy.
"I can't say. Telling you that much is more then I've ever told Antonio, and he trusts me."
"It's true Lady Marielle." Antonio nods "I may not know who they are, or what they are doing, but I know they helped me free you. Ophi saved my life, and helped me give life to Galahad. I trust her, and her friends, even if they are a bit shadey."

"Still i think things just got overblown." Capricorn says.
"You don't think though." Saggitarius says. "You react mindlessly."
-------------
Scorpio stood there on the balcony alone, staring up at the sky. "Idiotic, short sighted buffoon. He is nothing like you Kai...a mindless twit unworthy of your name and power." An inky tear runs out from under her eye patch. "They cannot understand the living Hell I face, especially since you were taken from me."

Marielle sighs "I supose I do have to thank you for rescueing me." she sighs "So, what has happened in my absense?"
"Well, your son is 'sick'. Or so his father says. He really is missing mysteriously." Ophiuchus says
Marielle frowns "That creature...he's likely out doing his father's bidding. He's like a little clone of him....sick evil....a murderer." she scowls

Gemini had not payed attention to the rest of the conversations. She had just toyed with her bracelet most of the time, looking up into the sky and sighing the rest of time.
She walked away.
"I...well...until you need me again..." She sighed out.

Leo nods. "Right. Guess I'll go grab some wood for the pyre. Do we have a good room to perform the ceremony in?"

"The observation deck is large enough. And he did like it there." Libra says

"Alrighty then. I'll get to that.," Leo says, walking off.
((OOC: And now, for another first person mode! I think I'll make it a goal to have at least one of these in each RP I'm in ^^))
The sky looked beautiful. It always did. Clear and bright, sun shining on the pristine walls of the castle during the day, pale moonlight at nighttime. A castle itself that was a symbol of our power, the superiority of the Orbis. We who could do more than anyone else in the world, we who surpassed the limitations of normal humans. Our goals are vague and our might legendary. We are effectively gods on Earth.
And yet, we could not escape death. None of us can...
If I could cry I probably would as I stare out the balcony of the observation deck. It's a weak feeling, really. Crying. A human response to sadness. But right now, I don't care. No matter who you are, death isn't something you can just brush off.
"It just doesn't seem right!," I say to myself as I slam my fist on the balcony ledge. Or I can't even say "my" fist. It's robotic appearance is not what I was born seeing. The steam coming from the elbow of the arm it's connected to not my inner workings. This whole body is just as much not mine...as it is mine.
Sometimes I wonder which body is me. There's my actual one, the one at the center of the castle, in a chamber of my own design. My body that is forever suspended in animation, barely alive so as to sustain the lift that keeps this castle in the air. I suppose I could call it pretty, beautiful even. Maybe at least gorgeous. I wouldn't really know, I haven't used it in decades.
Instead I'm either this floating orb or, as I have been for...I can't even remember how long now, this robot that I am now. Don't get me wrong, it is immensely better than being an orb and wonderful to interact with the rest of the Orbis, but...I probably feel the most inhuman now more than ever.
But why should I want to feel human? Orbis are supposed to be beyond humanity, a higher life form, a more perfect being. Or at least that's what I tell myself. In reality, I feel the Orbis are nothing more than a subspecies of human. We can do wonderful things with our gifts and live much longer than your average human...but I wouldn't say that makes us morally better. In some cases, I view that as the opposite scenario to what actually happens.
But not with him. Not with Aries. And I guess not with Virgo either. Those two are the only ones I'm willing to call my "friends", and now that number is down to one. It's why I'm here, on the verge of tears I can't release, staring out at this wonderful sky and hating every minute of it.
It's because of me that the castle always has such clear weather. I can bend mother nature to my whim, call storms from nowhere to wreak havoc or bring rain to banish droughts. Hurricanes, tornadoes, blizzards, rain, wind, hail, sleet, snow, all of it is under my command! Such godlike power! And I couldn't even stop him from dying! "It's not fair!," I yell at the air, my despair ringing out along the outer parts of the castle. "Why give us so much and yet, give us so little!? What sort of cruel joke is that?!"
The wind blows across my face, but otherwise there is silence. There is always silence. The air cannot answer my questions, it cannot put my fears to rest. I know this, but it doesn't help in anyway.
I turn away from the balcony and trudge off slowly. I cannot stand to see the world so pretty on such a horrible day as this one. Stopping, I look back and realize I don't have to. My "eyes" glow white and the sky above the castle becomes covered slowly with black clouds, blotting out the sun. At first only a few drops fall, but soon enough it is pouring rain. A gloomy look for a gloomy day.
I walk back into the castle. "It isn't fair...but so many things aren't.," I whisper. The truth hurts...but at least now everyone can hurt with me.

((OOC: that came out quite nice outer, I must say. It really made the moment more emotional. I sorta' feel bad for killing off the old guy now...))
Galahad looks up from the 'garage' he was in. It had been the only place big enough on the castle for him to fit through to enter, and unfortunately he was confined there due to his size. "Peculiar...My sensors didn't indicate that it was possible for this sort of weather today..." he mutters. He was as far back as he could be from the glass that looked out onto the sky, having discovered something new about himself since their arrival, and the begining of his life guided by his own missions now that his initial purpose was completed. He had learned that despite his towering stature, that he could very well be the largest SPSRL out there, he was dreadfully afraid of heights.
-----------
Antonio hears rain hitting the castle "Funny..." he says, trying to change the subject "Galahad predicted it would be a clear day. Maybe his sensors are off."
"No. It's one of Ophiuchus' friends." Marielle says, and sips some tea.
"Your powers have that wide of range naturally?" Ophiuchus asks
"Yes. I can lower the range if I want. I've had a lot of time to practice so I'm quite good at what I do. I know that you can temporarily give powers to those without them through touch, and that it effects those with powers by giving a simple boost of strength. I can also sense you can create psychic clones of your own self and shape them into other things." Marielle says "There is one who sees with her mind, and can create constructs out of psychic energy. One who deals in the manipulation of ink. Their powers have split into both a physical and psychic use of this base power."
"I know everyone's power there's no need to recite them. I get it, you have mastery of it. At least in one aspect of it. True mastery is manipulating it to different uses. Like how your son has telekinesis, but uses it to create pulses of psychic waves and other such things." Ophiuchus says
Marielle frowns and is about to say something insulting about her son when Antonio intrudes "Well! I'd like to think that there is something we could do for you and your friends Ophi. To help with the loss, so do send that message."

((OOC: Thanks Ink! And don't feel bad, we've all killed off a character or two. I had to go kill Malzahar in Miyazaki to try and advance the plot.))
Leo hears the rain as she approaches the observation deck. "Oh come on...," she groans. "Yep, sure enough, it's freaking pouring." She sighs and brings a hand to her head and rubs her hair. "Gonna be kind of hard to have a funeral pyre if it's raining..."

"Life is never fair Aquarius, that's the punchline." Scorpio says, coming obviously after hearing the outburst and seeing the weather. "Your pain is mine, the pain I held onto ever since I lost my Capricorn." She looks at her. "We are unable to beat death but we can deny it from hurting us. Aries would weep at your reaction. He wanted us to wear a smile and think of him fondly. I know you can't do the smile and I mean no offense like this but you can remember. In that he will live on." Scorpio puts her hand on Aquarius'. "Even I mourn for him, dulled as it is from a lifetime of loss but it pains me too. He was a good kid...way back when."

"I know that Aries would rather me remember him fondly than mourn his loss, but mourning is all I have left.," Aquarius replies to Scorpio, the pouring of the rain still audible from their position. She gestures to herself as she says, "I am already so far away from any sort of humanity that this sadness is all I am capable of conveying. It is like you said, I can't smile. I can't grin. I can't even convey my own feelings through tone."
She puts a hand to her head, covering one of her eyes as she looks at the ground. "You have lived the longest out of all of us Scorpio, but at least you can be human, whatever that is. Aries was my friend, and now he is gone. I...can't do anything else than what I am doing now. I appreciate your words, but leave me to my mourning. Eventually things will go back to some semblance of normal and the events of today won't matter. You of all people should understand the numbness time's passing brings to loss."

"You're more human than me. Don't insult yourself. I'm the most inhuman of us all where it counts." Scorpio says. "And you are wrong. You can stop the rain and let him have his pyre. You are crying out there. Look." She points. "Those are your tears now and when you are happy the sun is your smile. The storms you summon when your angry...the very sky is your face for it conveys your heart openly for all to see. I am a walking lie, who can't shed a tear even for herself." Scorpio says. "We will eventually find a way to bring you back to flesh, I promise. But take solace that your gift bring you the means of showing your feelings even like this. Now please...let the sky be clear as a last gift to the friend you care for so much."
