Yanaki had run off after Kenji. He watches cautiously as he drags off his kill. "He ignored my elk...good, the herd's small size helped." he murmurs. "Better get back..." he sprints away and blows his horn to locate the herd. He hears them call back to him and follows the sound. he meets up with them in a clearing and pats a baby elk as it runs enthusiastically to greet him. he picks up a clover and pops it in his mouth. "Mmmmmm...."

He turned his back on the three.
"Maltos....Maltos...Maltos..." He said to himself.
"Lets go." Isa thought to him.
" heh....I think, I will spare him, I don't want to, but it will ruin our night. So lets get going.
He turned back to Caelum. " Next time you won't be lucky. So don't test your luck. As for you Ki....well, ehhh you've done me no harm and at least with you there's no silly games short and to the point, I like that." He turned away from them and Isa hoped onto his back, carefuly stradling him so's not to cut herself with his blade.
"Lets have fun tonight. KK Ness."
" Yeah let's, you earned your keep tonight."
"Hey!!" He sped off into the woods leaving only the fallen tree to expose he was ever in the clearing. His laughter echoed off the trees as they ran.

Akiki nodded and Jiro grunted in acknowledgment as she steadied herself on his back, the moment she was secure, the two were gone, Jiro had a clearing in mind that would be good for their meal.

Doji blushed as well at the overly polite Yuki.

"Ohh well...thanks!" He chuckled." Those sai are pretty nice, I mean I did have some help with the handles, but ummm..." He said as he rubbed his head and looked down.

He looked up and smiled at her.

"So yeah...The names Doji, the towns blacksmith, and a fine good one at it too. Pleasure to make your aquaintance, madam!"

He smiled and looked around." Well I suppose I could close the shop up for a few minutes to show you an inn. There is this really nice one at the edge of town, down by the river. You can see all the way across to the woods on the other side."

He hung up his apron, fixed his hair, and locked the door as he lead Yuki to the inn.

Yuuryuko, Sanku, and the other samurai stood on the opposite side of the river watching the farmers. They held scythes and were cutting down the thin underbrush before the woods. A few had torches and were burning the leftovers.

Yuuryuko and Sanku spoke as they watched.

"You know," Sanku spoke quietly so the others did not hear. "The town's rice output has been fine these past years, plenty for the town and traders...I think Lord Ishanto is just getting greedy."

"More like nervous." Spoke Yuuyuko coldly.

"What?" Sanku asked.

Yuuryuko continued." He fears the forest and it's mysteries. That's why he hired me. He feared the attacks by the demons and gods some much, he bought extra help, and that is why he keeps me around."

"Huh."

"He's finally gotten fed up having the forest so near his doorstep. He fears another attack, so now he is issueing this preemptive strike."

Sanku gulped." Do...do you think the gods will fight back?"

Yuuryuko di not anwser instead he looked deep into the woods, where something was happening.

((OOC This forest isn't near your guy's forest, I'm not talking about you.))

Yuki smiles and follows happily "Oh, thank you very much Doji-san. It's so nice of you, me being a complete stranger and all, especially with how suspicious people are these days." she jumps a little and blushes again "Oh, how rude of me, I haven't told you my name yet. I'm Yuki, and I'm traveling the world!" she says cheerfully.

Yanaki lies down in the grass as his elk graze. he yawns loudly "That moose was a big'un, should keep those beasts full long enough for us to be long gone." he glances over at the elk "you guys need to work on watching where you're going, one day you'll run into a trap and I won't be here...I'll have moved on to another herd." he yawns again "but until then, I'll protect you from flea-bitten savages...." he closes his eyes and listens to the forest.

Doji blushed "Well Yuki, that's a nice name...so you travel the world huh?"

Doji laughed a little as they contiued to walk towards the inn.

"You know you seem kinda young to be traveling along. Don't you think it's dangerous?"




Yuuryuko's fingers moved toward his blades." There. 5 meters North of the farmer with the hat."

Sanku looked at that location. The brush began to move slowly. Only those to had noticed but, the rustling became louder and more intense. Other samurai began noticing followed by the workers.

A growling sound came from the woods. Slowly a figure of a beast emerged. Out of the woods emerged a giant Nue, a beast with the head of a monkey, body of a racoon dog, the hands and feet of a tiger, and the tail of a snake.

It crept on all fours, slowly exiting the brush into broad daylight, growling the entire time. At once the farmers began to ran except the one nearest to the Nue.

In a flash it charge the man, it's fangs plunped into it's torso as he threw the farmer into the river.

The samurai stood their ground as the beast spoke.

Who do you humans think you are burning my forest?

Sanku walked forward slightly." It is the will of Lord Ishanto that this field be cleared for-"

This is my forest! You human have no right to be here!

" If you do not leave we will be forced to fight you." Sanku spoke bravely

Me, leave? It is you humans who should leave the forests!

The beast crouched, dug it's feet into the ground then lunged at Sanku.

"Necrassii and Isa emerged from the forest, and he put her down gently.
" That was a close call." Isa said.
"Yeah, that would have gotten messy. He would of lasted.....Isa,....OH CRAP!!!"
"Oh my god." she clapped her hand to her mouth. The village of Nudoria, was in flames...

Yuki smiles "A little, what with bandits and demons, but I manage." she giggles quietly those bandits I met up with a few days ago should be thawed out by now...I wonder how it feels to freeze to death...not pleasent...no...not at all... she thinks. Yuki looks to see where they are going and sees a large gathering of people who all seemed in distress "Oh my, what going-" she gasps when she sees the Nue across the river and the samurai surrounding it "Is that the God of the forest?" he seems so angery....if they attack him...he might turn into a demon! she grabs onto Doji's arm and hides behind him Not a demon, I don't know if I could kill a demon....but I'd have to help these people...

Jiro yawned as he entered the clearing he'd decided on, the days events, and dealing with humans, had left him a little tired but well fulfilled. Akiki nudged him lightly, smiling, and together they began to collect wood to cook Akiki's meat with. Moments later, a small, but warm fire was burning and Akiki was sitting in a tree. She wasn't at all shocked when Jiro stood and left, only to return with Kenji and a large dead moose. She smiled, dinner is served.

"Holy Hell!" Doji shouted watching the Nue across the river." Quick we gotta get down there! We can grab a boat and help those farmers get across the river!" He tugged on Yuki's sleeve as he led her to the river.



Sanku drew his blade in time to catch the god's claw, suddenly the tail whipped around and bit Sanku in his right shoulder. It wrapped around him once before tugging back and holding him in mid-air.

the other samurai began attacking, some ran at him with swords while others drew bows.

"Stop!" Yuuryuko held his hands at the bow men." You may hit Sanku!"

He watched as the samurai attacked the Nue. Yuuryuko held back.

I need to help Sanku, but if I draw my blades...

The Nue was begining to be overwhelmed. He swatted a pair of samurai away then flung Sanku into the air before clawing him.

"NOOO!"

Sanku body flew across the field. Yuuryuko felt his rage burning.

He growled himself." It can't be helped." He reached for the sword on his back, while the rest of the samurai were being killed or fled from th Nue.

Yuuryuko drew the katana. Almost immediately black mist engulfed the field. The god, confused by the mist, looked about as Yuuryuko slashed it.

The blade caught the beast on the neck, down to his shoulder. It howled in paim, lurched back and fell before standing and running into the woods.

Yuuryuko panted and looked about. The mist hung heavy in the air. Not a good sign." Damn curse..."

Yuki stared at the battle from the boat Doji had led her to "He...weilds a cursed blade..." she looks off into the forest where the Nue had ran He's hurt, and badly. I feel his anger, he will become a demon if he isn't calmed...I have to go to him...but... she looks at Doji How will I get away from Doji-san? I will have to wait until we've helped the wounded get across and then sneek off. I just hope I have time....

Caelum shook his head... '...the nerve...'
Sighing he started walking through the forest...

Yasuo sighed, leaning against a tree while Anei cleaned the remnants of the dinner. "An-chan....I'm bored..." He complained

She shook her head slightly, "Then get up you lazy bum. We're not that far from town. You can go harass people there."

"Poison?" He asked hopefully. "And by poison I mean food dye?"

Yuuryuko held his cursed blade panting.

During his dealings with gods and especially demons he had acquired three cursed katanas. All of them as equally terrible as the last.

The one he held now, Saiketsu, needed to kill every time he unsheathed it. Now will the Nue gone he would have to find something to kill.

A groan sounded a little ways away.

Yuuryuko would have to do the unthinkable, or else the curse would destroy him.

He stumbled over to the spot. Sanku lay on the ground, battered. Both legs were broken, fang marks resided on his shoulder, poison dripping from the wound, his torso had four fang marks almost clean through his body.

"Yuu...Yuur...ko" Sanku sputtered. He spit up some blood.

"His lung collapsed too..." Yuuryuko whispered." Your....Your too far gone..." A tear rolled down his face." My friend..."

Yuuryuko began crying as he fell to his knees, sobbing.

"Yuur...Yuuryu..." Sanku tried to speak.

"I'm sorry...my friend..." Yuuryuko couldn't look. He slowly raised the katana above Sanku's body before lowering it quickly, ending his friends life.

The black mist dissipated in mere moments. Leaving only Yuuryuko and his now dead friend.

Doji looked out at the field." Dear Lord..." He looked back at Yuki." I shouldn't have brought you here...Look away..."

Nessii entered the village in one jump from the edge of the forest. He slammed down in the middle of the square and slowly looked around.
"I smell....I smell....hatred. Damn!" He turned and ducked as a flaming axe the size of his torso flew past him.
He unsheathed his 200lb Maltos blade.
"Never give up do you !!! Lucian?" The demon said nothing but prepared for another swing of its massive axe.
