Captain Kosciuzsko sat back in his chair, watching as his fleet landed on what we would call our new home, int he midst of the obilteration of our own ecosystem.
What rescources lay on this planet?
Are there any indigenous inhabitants?
What are the bare scientific statistics of this planet (elemental makeup, length of year, and so and on.
This was aboard the starship USS Alexander...
This was 200 years ago...

His first mate, Ensign Hayami reported in.
"Sir, we will reach the designated objective within fourteen hours. ISIS says there may already be indigenous inhabitants."
Kosciuzsko looked at the blue waters and lush landmasses.
"So, how long do you think it'll take before we screw this one up?
Our all-time record is 200 years. Think we'll beat it?"
Hayami, with her soft blue eyes, timid voice and stern disposition, was obviously not impressed by his pessimism. "Sir, this represents a new start for humanity. A second chance. A rebirth."
He looked at her. "...and new terrorisms, new genocides, new Holocausts. It will happen, it's only a matter of time...This planet...exactly what do you think we're going to do with the natives? It won't be any different than the times of Columbus, Vespucci, and Magellan."

((OOC: Alrighty, let's get this thing started! Now that I have my internet up and running we have the ok to go! Therion is doing the background stuff for how humans came to this planet so just view his posts for now as...educational, lol. Anyways, I'll start us off!))
A.W.E.. A place for the gifted. A place for the talented. A place for those who wanted to excel with what they had. And for Lance Maximillian, it was a place where he was going to be late for his first assembly.
Shiiiiiiiiit! I can't believe I overslept! He quickly hurried through the hallways, trying to make it to the assembly for all first years. The teachers were SO going to kill him!
Isaac sighed to himself as he manipulated a sphere of water with his hand. This assembly is going to be so boring. I can't wait till it's done so I can move on to the good stuff. Looking around, he could tell he was probably the most advanced out of all the first years, or at least most of them. I doubt any of them can even can even condense a ball of an element yet, let alone manipulate it.
Rami closed his eyes and said his prayers. Today was his first day and he wanted to make a good impressions on his fellow classmates. He knew his kind were rare and many would stare and talk about him. He didn't mind. His studies and improving his abilities were all that mattered. If he made friends, it was an extra bonus. All that mattered was bringing honor to his clan and his family and showing that he was civilized.

Alton looked around the assembly hall just a little nervously, as he patted SabishÃi's head lightly. He couldn't help but be a little envious when he caught sight of Issac, Of course....I can't do anything with mine...and there are people who are like that. I just hope not everyone's like that....it's bad enough I'll embarrass my family as it is....

Sapphire smiled to herself as she looked around, careful not to lean to far back to put pressure on her wings. It wasn't like it'd do any damage, but the feeling was exactly comfortable, and she wanted to be able to pay attention.

Illyana enters the assembly hall and looks around, at first just to get a look, and then to find a seat.
Mortus follows behind her, grinning a little bit too excitedly. "There's a spot!" he exclaims and nearly drags her over. they sit down and he looks around, noticing that a few people were muttering and looking at him. he shrugs and turns to the guy next to him "Heeey, see sis, I told you there'd be other advanced people here! look'it this guy, making little water balls!" he holds out his hand "The name's Mortus!" he says enthusiastically to Isaac.
Illyana sighs and sits down next to him "So much for subtle..."

Isaac's water sphere is interrupted by Mortus's excited greeting and splashes onto the ground. Growling in annoyance, he manipulates it back into a little bottle he has. Looking at Mortus, he says, "Hello...Mortus. My name is Winter. Isaac Winter." He then returns the handshake.
Lance burst into the assembly hall, attracting some attention from other people as he caught his breath. Going over to someone near the back, he asked, "Am I late?" The kid slowly shook his head. "Yes! Thank you!" He then fist pumped his right arm once and looked for a place to sit.
Rami glanced as Lance came in and then went faced back to the front. The girl to his right caught his attention however. Her wings sparked his curiosity. "Excuse me," he asked politely, "but are those real wings? They are very pretty wings too, to me at least, as I have never seen such feathers on a bird before."

In the shadows of the mountains beyond, dwarfing even their evanescently gigantic mass, is the still-pristine USS Deuteronomy.
It is the third-largest of the Old fleet, and is by far the most heavily armed. Even today, with all its weapons fully decommissioned, it still manages to strike an anachronistic kind of fear into anyone who gazes upon it...all the weapony ever used by makind sits in exemplar aboard this vessel.

Alton twisted slightly in his seat to find the source of the noise, when Lance burst in. "So maybe I'm not the only one who's gunna have trouble?" He commented, "Or this dude's just got bad luck..."

Sapphire smiled slightly, having expected either pure shock, or people to avoid her because of her wings, "Yes, they're real." She said with a chuckled, "And thank you. I guess they are odd...but I guess that's because I'm not a full bird." She shrugged, "Never really thought about it. Oh. I'm Sapphire, by the way."

Mortus squeezes Isaac's hand and shakes it overexageratedly "It's great to meet you Isaac!" he lets go from his death squeeze and leans back so he could see Illyana "This is my little sis!"
She sighs "Illyana Blackwater. Sorry about him, he's...excited...first time going to a school, ever." she smiles awkwardly.
Mortus looks around "Why is everyone here so short?"
"They aren't short, your a behemoth...." she sighs

Isaac raises an eyebrow at Mortus's short comment. Examining him for a few seconds, he asks, "Are you really only 14? You seem much...older than that."
Rami nodded. "My name is Rami al-'Sahara of the Shʻb al-ʻQrb. But you can just call me Rami if it is easier for you. You are...strange, I do not believe there is a word for human-bird hybrids such as yourself. In any case, it is a pleasure to meet you. Did you travel far to come here?"
Deciding on a spot, Lance sat next to a student who had two twins bickering next to him. Breathing out a sigh of relief, he turned his head to face the person next to him and said, "So, yeah, first day, pretty exciting. I'm just glad I-HOLY CRAP! YOU HAVE WINGS!" His eyes went wide and be backed away a bit at that.

Illyana forces herself not to facepalm "He's just not human...we're half siblings. I'm the one with human blood. His other half is...a lot biger, it messed with his growth rate...." she shrugs "How 'bout you? Already manipulating water seems advanced for a first year...you human?"

"Ah, flying...," Rami said, his voice slightly drifting off. "How is it, to soar through the air, you're feet off the ground?"
Isaac sighed. Weirdness in his fellow classmates was something he would just have to come to accept. "Yes, I am human. I just have a particular affinity towards the element Water. I've had a tutor for some time helping me train in it, but he was unable to teach me everything I could learn to do with Water. So, here I am." Going back to manipulating water into a sphere in front of him, he asked, "What is it you two can do?"
