hmmm....this still screws with at least two of my characters...
one was going to be my newb, who was going to train to be a witch, but like the potion making-animal-bones reading-I've got a spellbook-and-magic-device-and-I'm-not-afraid-to-use-it. witch, so not like an elemental one, for lack of a better word a classic one.
I've got one newb guy who I can mess with a bit but it's still a strectch...
and another guy who I was going to have had been there a bit, with what restrictions you've got, I don't think his powers are even possible now
I'm just bummed out cause the topic bio said nothing about restrictions on the kind of magics, and I've already come up with characters.

Don't lose hope yet Inkshade! I'm sure that after Joe reads what you just put up here he'll make some change in the universe that allows your witch character!
I don't know about the other guy though, you didn't really explain him.
And the thing is, if you read the element post I did on the 3 basic magic and other stuff topic, Thats just how the elements work. Once you delve deeper into them and your mastery increases, you can mix them together for all sorts of things! Like, Water modified with Dark makes poison!
So, for instance, with her potions, your witch would need to study in Water magic and then learn to add a dark or light modifier to make different kinds.
The spellbook could still work because there is a type of magic that require incantations to be spoken. Usually it's slower, but its more witch like and can generally be the most powerful.
As for the magic device, just get some crystals imfused with mana and there you go!

Don't worry, I'm still in.
the one guy who I really wanna' bring back, has the ability to take like photo or painting of something, and things in it out of them. like taking a baseball player out of a baseball card, or the lady out of the mona lisa. or a chocolate bar out of a magazine article.
maybe you could do something like the basic magics you guys came up with are like core classes and then we could make electives or suttin', cause by potions I meant adding strange animal parts and other bizzare things to some liquid to make something that turns someone into a newt. that sorta stuff

Well, what we came up with is basically the basics of Elemental Magic.
That said, that doesn't mean there can't be other kinds of Magic available. If you have any ideas, just post it in that topic joe made
